I'm slightly nervous about going off HRT for grs. I have to stop three weeks before surgery (everything, including spiro).
I've been on hrt for almost two years... I don't know if my T levels are going to get that high and I don't think I'm going to all of a sudden masculinize, etc. Pre-hrt I didn't have very hight T levels anyway, and it's been constantly very low with hrt.
I think I worry more about the shock to the system with the drop in E. I know if I miss a dose I feel odd, get a migraine, and start with the hot/cold flashes. I usually get pretty sick... and that's one dose. So, I worry about that and wonder if it would last the whole time or not.
I'm not on a very high dose of spiro and estrace (estardiol), although, the dose I am on affects me a whole lot. So, there's the worry of the shock, of course, which makes me nervous.
And then going back on HRT after surgery makes me wonder how that's going to feel. As for going on spiro after, I've heard that some people take it for three weeks to three months after and others completely stop (the debate is that you might have some T floating around or left over to dissipate.. I have no clue if that's fact, or urban rumor).
