i just woke up and my mom came to me ,and told me she couldnt sleep last night. when i asked why she said that last night she saw the liftime movie "a girl like me" and for some strange reason she felt like it somehow related to her she said she took it so personally she cant stop thinking about it.
i thought to myself  maybe i should tell her now. i didnt see the movie but im sure it explained a lot about being transgendered  and how its not her fault that i am this way. but im a coward i chicked out
sorry if im boring you

It was an interesting movie. And yes, I think it did a good job of showing the evolution of Gwen's mother, and her changing attitude towards her daughter. I had trouble relating to Gwen though, as she was so very hyper-feminine from the beginning... and I was never really like that.

A truly heartbreaking story though.

Yes it is about a transgender MTF. It talks about the series of events leading up to her murder, and is a real event.

If you do out yourself to her now, she may also fear the same might happen to you, so it might not all be positive. At least you can talk to her about the movie and see why she couldnt sleep.

Its going to replay

This might be a really good opportunity.  Tell her why she feels it's related and personal to her.  I think your mother sounds like somebody who's really open to listening to you.

Jaded,

I did see the movie, and didn't find it as moving as I thought it might be. Why I wonder did it affect you mom as it did? Perhaps the content, but it does not apply directly to you being you are the opposite of "Gwen". I would assume if your mother was drawn to it to the point of not sleeping, then she does have a clue as to how you "are". You need to tell her Jaded. This is the best time while it is fresh in her mind. Don't be afraid, she will still love you.
