are the best person for the job - is diluted by equality
considerations. Are you employing the correct proportions (carefully
collated) of the disabled, ethnic minorities, the "transsexual
community" etc? Even when the employers themselves strongly believe
that their work will be hampered by such rules - as the Armed Services
did when they were told to open up to women and homosexuals - this is
overridden. Equality trumps everything."
