Mara has been deleted and banned for being abusive to staff in performance of their duties.

I thought it seemed roomier in here this evening.....

Mara should take care. But, even though it's not an excuse, she might be going though a rough patch.
*hugs* Sweety...

ya, anyone could see that Mara is and was deeply troubled. i don't mean this as a slight to her; i also have had many times in my life when i too was deeply troubled...

it seems that the girls who are the most troubled (and possibly, need this site the most) are the ones who get banned.

maybe it is right and proper that she should be banned, but it is still very sad, i know she's hurting, and i miss her.

wonder if we could have a banned pen, (in Just For Us) just for these especially troubled girls, which includes only members who are especially patient, and who request membership there, as with Peer Groups...

I don't know what Mara did to the mods... I suspect it must have been bad...
I saw one of her last posts and it was not that bad....

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,34941.msg233974.html#msg233974

and I DO SO feel for her... she needs us yes...

BUT you do not have the right to bite the people that love and care for you
and are here to help NO matter how troubled you are.

Ask yourself.... would you put up with an abusive wife or husband? I think not.

It would be great to have a "jail" so to speak... let them vent, let them be apart somehow.

Yes, like a penalty box. And we can throw pop corn on them....and ice cubes....

This went beyond ignoring. This went beyond jailing or noposting.

QuoteARE YOU KIDDING, your gonna deduct me for this piece of writing...

How can you justify that?  I think you should deduct [removed] for calling others [removed], and in case you did not notice she also decided to insinuate that [removed]...

She openly starts a thread with personal attacks against innocent people, Im the only one to stand up against it, and you come along and say oh this MARA IS BAD..

Whatever. [profanity] YOU then.

Please take me off this website... [profanity] YOU ALL.

I removed parts which could identify others not involved in this situation and for profanity. This was sent to a moderator who smited one of her messages in the course of her duties. It was totally unacceptable.

If you have a problem with someone's post use the report this post to a moderator link which is at the bottom of every message, if you don't you will get edited or smited.  If you have a problem an action taken by one of the site moderator's, email me. I always investigate, I may not always agree, but I never ignore a user's complaints no matter how liked or disliked someone may feel they are on the site.

This is HARD stuff to deal with no doubt... but no matter how hard it gets... NO one should be allowed to bite the people
that are here to help them.

I hope she finds peace.

well... i don't know if it's possible, but i was just wondering- maybe the person being 'banned' just have their posting privileges taken away except for like one board, um, like a time out zone? don't know what it should be called.

but tho... that's just an idea. i don't know if it's possible or anything. Lol.

What are you guys thoughts?

p.s. ouch for that message. O.O
*hugs* for Mara, still.

Banning someone for a period of time or deleting an account is not something that is taken lightly.  While it might be unpleasant, sometimes it happens and the reason is always well explained to the person involved.

Just my thoughts on the subject.

That happens often. Members are given warnings and chances to clean up their act, placed on 'no posts, no pms' for a time. Banning is a last resort measure except in cases where they get really nasty and unacceptable. Everyone here is going through a lot and that is not taken lightly but Susan and staff can't allow abusive members the chance to harm others.

Tragically they are people that in the end need it most.  So it goes.

oh, well, i can't go any farther than making the suggestion i've already made, as i do like this site very much as it is, and i don't know that such proposed changes would actually improve anything, or make things worse.

I don't consider bans a perm thing and regularly wipe the list. Bans can frequently be removed by apologizing. But a person has to convince me they mean it. I am a firm believer in giving another chance.
