What is your opinion?  Given current hair styles, and the fact that most of us look like 12-year-olds pre-T, do you think it's easier to pass with very short hair, or longer hair?  I'm thinking of growing my hair out to something like in the picture below.  (Currently my hair is quite a bit shorter than in my avatar pic.  Sort of early Beatles.  Think: Hamburg Era)

I wouldn't mind having his face, along with his haircut.   :P

it depends on the style.  if you arent careful, you may end up with girl emo hair.  but if you keep it short, it may accentuate the female features of your face by not covering it at all.

That's about how long I keep mine. When I have it shorter, I look even more like a dyke cause I've got a femmy face and it just makes the femmyness stand out more.

I have my hair long (like avatar) and it's hard to pass as male (I don't even really try) because I want to keep my long hair so at times if I appear androgynous I at least try to pass as an androgynous male.

Go for the hair in the pic, because if it looks terrible you still have room to alter it, as opposed to a short style where you are stuck with it until it grows out.  :P

I have short hair and all weekend new clients referred to me as SHE or that LADY without knowing my first name.

Knowing I don't pass when to ME I look male sucks.  :-\  Every time I hear it it's like a punch in the gut.  I've never been a feminine woman but something about me screams FEMALE! and I wish it would SHUT UP!!!!!!!!

The hair in the pic looks like a good length. I just got my hair cut, it's pretty short now, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I was always confident about passing when my hair was a little longer, but I HATE having longer hair because it's too hot. I also look a lot younger now which blows. Haircuts are always tricky.

I keep my hair short, but after I start T, I might grow it out a bit when and if I start growing facial hair.

I apparently have a very feminine face, so no matter what length my hair is, I'm kinda screwed D:

I know a few transguys who are pre-T and have their hair like that pic, and they pass as feminine, young emo boys.

My hair is almost exactly like that pic, its just a little bit shorter. I have no problems passing for the most part. I work in a sports store and almost everyone i wait on calls me sir, my professors know my legal name, which is really girly and they still think im a boy, the only people that i have problems passing around are usually people of the LGBT community. i think the hair really just depends on your features. Its really important to find the most "male" features of your face and get a haircut that will bring them out.

I know what you mean.  A couple weeks ago I went to the MN Transgender Health Fair - let me repeat that: TRANSGENDER Health Fair - wearing my masculine best.  I was talking to someone to whom I had introduced myself with my male name, and I still got she'd.  *sigh*

Ah well.  I couldn't help enjoying the irony, though.

They probably thought you were mtf and were doing you a favor by calling you 'she'  ::)

I meet with a new therapist today who runs a support group twice monthly.  Should be interesting.

Ah, that must be it - My very own Victor Victoria moment.  :eusa_think:  Hey, that could be the answer to all my problems!  I can pass perfectly as a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman.  :icon_yes:
