"When I changed my name I, quite reasonably, changed my title too. I chose "Ms" because it seemed most appropriate. "Miss" seemed too young for a woman of my age and Ms is fairly common amongst the liberal middle-class set I generally associate with. Not only that but I never did see why a woman should advertise her marital status every time she writes her name."
