It feels like I'm waiting for Christmas! I've been looking forward to this day for 4 years now, and it's finally the right time. I saw the doctor that had to asses my situation and see if I'm ready to start testosterone. I have dealt with him before when I was on pre-T, so he knew my story and all about me. It was a very quick meeting, and at the end, he shook my hand and said "congratulations tino, make an appointment with your regular doctor here and he will give you your perscription for T". It was a HUGE relief, like everything that I've been working really hard for is finally coming together, and it's very encouraging. I booked it out to the waiting room where Amy was and we made and appointment for Saturday July 1st at 10am.  Another really encouraging thing about this is that July 1st was my goal to have my first shot by, and I met it. I don't feel like I have accomplished much in my life, but this feels very significant to me.

I haven't really been on this site lately b/c I got a very severe staph infection and I'm trying really hard to fight it off, lots of sleep and daily trips to the hospital for injection antibiotics.

Hi Tino:

Congrats on your T prescription!  I'm very happy for you.  Keep us posted. :)

P.S.  I also hope you feel better soon; make sure to take all your medicine, or else auntie Tinkerbell is gonna pull your ears. ;)

Melissa

Just because of that, I will have to go out to Tea to celebrate! Lol, T-no, cute!

It's great to have the support and encouragement of this site! I wish that I had a site like this when I was just trying to figure out who I am. I'm glad that a lot of you can relate to the excitement, and the rest know what it's like to look forward to it. It's really helpful how everyone of us is at a different place in our transition/lives (for our lovely SO's out there) and how everyone can contribute to the majority of conversations on here.

I plan on keeping everyone posted.

And the staph infection is really stubborn! Still going to the hospital everyday to get my injection of antibiotics. It's an hours drive there and back home, plus $4.50 everyday to park, and gas is freaking expensive, not to mention to fill our truck! Tomorrow is my last injection (so they say, they've been saying that for a few days now) and then I'll be able to be on antibiotic pills... yay, no more one handed gimp driving b/c of the tubes in my hand! Thanks for the well wishes  ;D!

Ps. only 3 more sleeps... I'm not counting Stephanie!  ;)

Hey Tino,
It's two more sleeps now.  Just one 'til Marco's second shot.  This is the appointment when we have to prove that we know what we are doing with the injections so he will give him a prescription to self-inject.  He wants me to do it, so I'm a little nervous.  I've been practicing by giving his diabetic dog insulin shots this week.  An insulin needle is a hell of a lot smaller than the syringe that T goes in.
Now...to address your parking rates.  Beverly Hills (where Marco goes for the injections) is about 2 1/2 hours in traffic one way, and the parking rate is $13.65!  We feel for you though, because you had to go there everyday with tubes hanging out of your hand!  Did you get them out today?
Hope everything is well with you and Amy...How's the smoking (or lack thereof) going?

Take care,
Pam

Atleast you've been able to practice giving shots (and the dog is getting its insulin). It's going to be a little nerve racking for you the first time you have to give Marco his shot, but it's really great that your willing to do it for him and that you won't have to drive for 2 1/2 hours (and $13.65 for parking?? for how long, 15 minutes?).

I went to the hospital today and got my antibiotic (they forgot about me in the waiting room for an hour and a half!!!!). The nurse took the needle out of my hand for the night only because my hand was really starting to hurt. They told me yesterday that today was going to be my last dose, but I'm scheduled for Friday and Saturday! I'm kind of pissed off about this because I'm excited about getting my T and then I wanted to hang out with Amy for the day. Now I have to worry about getting to the hospital to get my antibiotic. I hope saturday is my last day of them. I have to get re-poked with the needle tommorrow...

What time is Marcos shot tomorrow? Hope all goes well, tell him to post as soon as he gets back and to PUT UP THE 8 DAYS ON T POST! It's informative and I'll reply to it!!!

I'm still not smoking, but unfortunately Amy's on the cigarettes again. I like smoking cigars from time to time, but not daily... I feel really bad that I got her started on them because I think she likes them too much. I thought it would just be a casual thing like how I smoke them. I suppose I'm a little disappointed, but I just really want to support her and I need to not start smoking again and be strong for her and Megan.

Thanks for the support!

Yay 2 more sleeps... I dont think I'll be able to sleep tomorrow night, so it'll be one sleep and one really long day.

Hey Tino...
Marco's shot is at 2:45 today.  I'm really sweatin' it now.  That needle is so long! (much longer than an insulin needle).  Marco said that he will post an update about it in a few days so that he can notice the effects of it.  He said that one of the first things he noticed was his voice cracking, but I can vouch that one of the more immediate, major changes was in the downstairs area.  Damn!!  It's growing at a rapid rate.
That is so cool that you're staying off the cigarettes and being supportive for Amy.  Let her know that it is o.k. to "go back" every now and again.  It's extremely hard to quit smoking cold turkey.  She'll do it eventually.  Just because she has one here and there doesn't mean she has failed...it just means she is human.
Well...Marco is chomping at the bit to get on here, so I will go and let him at the keyboard.  I'm sure we'll be messaging before, but just in case we don't...Good luck on your shot tomorrow (and all the antiboitic crap you're going through!).

;D ;D ;D

Tino's T is in 10 hours!!! Hey Pam how soon for this rapid growth 'down there'? (Just curious) & The voice changes within 8 days? (If I remember one of Marco's post). Maybe voice is sooner?

WOOHOO! I get my shot in 9 hours! June 30th was the last day I lived as "bio self"  :icon_blah:.

Today was also my last antibiotic injection!!! So tomorrow, I can just go and get my T shot and spend the day with Amy. Very happy about that to.

Hi Tino:

I'm so excited for you.  Forget the tea, here is a beer from your auntie Tinkerbell :icon_drunk: :icon_joy:  so how many more hours, minutes, seconds, and whatever the hay comes after that are left for your first  T shot?  ouch!!!!

We'll be thinking of you.  Remember that you have a family at Susan's.
Now that Melissa's birthday is coming up, plus the celebration of your first testosterone shot, and all the joys and wonders that come with all this, we'll have enough posts for the remaining part of the year, I think ;D

Take care and God bless,

auntie Tinkerbell  :icon_hug:

I know this is Tino's thread, but I am responding to Amy regarding her question about the rapid growth down "there".  It was day 5 when I noticed it was almost twice the size that it was.  It was already bigger than normal to begin with, but it was even bigger!

;D ;D
