The Cliks' brand of dark and driving pop-rock finds its anchor on the strikingly androgynous voice of singer-songwriter Lucas Silveira ... an androgyne with a rare origin.

Two and a half years ago, Lucas was Lilia, and was about to undergo the most traumatic transition of his - or, at the time, her - young life. "The only thing I knew," says the transgendered musician, "was that I had to continue in music. That was my life."

Fans helped smooth that transition. Lucas' personal life has in no way deterred the Cliks from finding a growing audience. They'll have the chance to further it by taking part in the second annual "True Colors Tour" - a gay, lesbian and transgender-related event at Jones Beach on Sunday and Radio City Music Hall Tuesday.

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
