A conference in Christchurch for all transgender people, their partners and supporters to meet and network will feature fun workshops, exciting guest speakers and world class entertainment, say the organisers at Agender Christchurch.

Guest speakers include businesswoman and '->-bleeped-<- Granny' Jacquie Grant, and transgender police officer Sarah Lurajud, and the event includes a fashion show, and performances by trans group The Playgirls.

The weekend-long conference began yesterday afternoon at the Copthorne on Durham hotel venue, with an update and discussion about the Transgender Inquiry Report with the Human Rights Commission, followed by a political forum.
