Now that I have a pic up, I thought I would say hello.

I transitioned in 2001, as a manager at a Fortune 100 company.  It did not go smoothly and eventually I was forced to leave.  But fortunately I ended up with a very good job selling energy saving light bulbs. 
I have chosen (at this time anyway), not to have SRS, but I have had breast implants, and a trachal shave, and estrogen for 10 years helps alot too.
I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, biking, and I am excited about seeing Sex and the City today with my daughter and one of her friends.
After being comfortable with my looks since transition, I have decided to have FFS this month- just soft tissue, no bone work.  I am both excited and scared at the same time.
I hope I can make new friends here, and I will certainly try to be a good friend to you all.

Every time I hear of someone getting FFS, it makes me depressed because I know time is just ticking away on my chances of doing this. So I wish I could get FFS right now. I would just love to get some bony work on my forehead, brow, and nose because I know I'll never be passable or ->-bleeped-<-en lucky like the rest of you people otherwise.

Then again, I guess I could be worse. But then I think I could be so much better if that makes any sense.

Don't say you'll never be passable, you nincompoop! EVERYONE thinks that... EVERYONE passes better than they think they do. Plus, there are dozens of techniques to try! I'm sure you haven't done them all... give yourself a chance!

Time is ticking away on my life. I guess you are right through. I could really do this at any time since I've done been through puberty. I'm sorry for being so depressed; I wish I could look on the bright side of life like some of you all can do so much better than me.

Although I appreciate your kindness Elwood, I know better. I'm ugly.

Well, I saw that one picture of you, and I didn't think you were ugly at all. 

Chin up, Hinata. I know how you feel. I've been depressed too. I couldn't possibly think I'm ugly because I get a lot of complements... but I do often feel not masculine enough... my face us fine, I guess... Bah. I feel it must be very hard for you to have facial features you really dislike. I mean, I've always wanted a more pronounced nose, but that isn't major. You're worried by your chin, brow, nose, etc. It's got to be tough. But I'm hoping you can find hairstyles that complement your already existing features (I know bangs can really help). Confidence is also a big plus to how a person looks.

Oh, and sorry for hijacking your thread, Virginia!

Poly- Bless your heart.  Before I transitioned I thought just like you.  I'll never pass because I am 6'3" tall.  I have found that "passing" is as much between the ears as it is how we look.  A self-confident attitude goes a long way toward how we are "seen".  And little simple triggers like hair, make-up and clothes also really contribute to it.

Tall is gorgeous! But yes... difficult. I saw a transwoman who was post-op, in the 6'1" range... I knew she was a transwoman but she passed as woman for me... I know you girls aren't cis, but you're still girls to me. I don't care what you were born as... Transwomen blossom into something beautiful that deserves respect.

I feel like I'll never pass because I'm 5'3"! I'll always have the short man complex.

Don't let that short man complex get to you!  I never even heard of it until I took
Psych 101 about the age of 20.  But I have to admit that by then as a guy (who is
still part of me) I was all the way up to 5'5"!  But check this out: My Dad was 5'4-1/2"
and ran his own business for over 30 years!
