great... 5 more sleeps till T...

I woke up this morning after only being able to get a few hours sleep and headed downtown to meet amy at work (took an hour by bus and skytrain). i got downtown at 9am and we decided to leave the truck parked at her work and walk to the appointment (20 minutes) because it was a nice day out and we didn't want to have to pay for parking! We got Tim Hortons coffee (best ever) and i felt like nothing in the world could get me down (even though i didn't feel my binder was quite that up to par today). we made our way there 15 minutes before the appointment only to see on the door "closed for the canada day long weekend, reopened on tuesday". i just about lost it and went to the office next door where a security guard was standing and asked what the hell was going on since i had an appointment and i found out that indeed i wasn't getting my shot. he could tell i was really disappointed about something and he appologized a lot and told me that i could make another appointment for wednesday or thursday. we reluctantly walked away and sat on some steps for awhile before making our way back to the truck... and i REALLY wanted a cigarette... but didn't. why would the guy making the appointment for me do that? he was looking right at the calender and told me that i could come in at 10am and he knew what i was getting and that i was really excited about it. i'm really disappointed and discouraged. i know i'm still going to get it, but i've been waiting for this for what seems like forever, and now it's another countdown. 

so i was very angry at canada (which is very uncharacteristic of me since i have a canadian maple leaf tattoo with a beaver and the key to my house has the canadian flag on it... and one of my favorite holidays is canada day... yeah, i'm proud!) because of this whole little set back so amy decided to do something really sweet for me. we went home and got some towels, shorts, and she made sure i had my wallet. i thought we were heading to a local beach but we were driving for quite awhile... towards the ferry terminal... nope, past it. then we arrived at the us border, and she said "happy un-canada day!"

we spent the day at a completely desolate beach in point roberts. we hiked and tanned and attempted to swim, but there was an incredible amount of seaweed so we just ran away. she really knows how to cheer me up...

so i guess it's 4-5 more sleeps until T... i'm a little ticked off, but more disappointed. atleast i know that i can still get it, and this is just a minor delay.

I know...I heard.. a little birdie told me.  I'm so sorry Tino, you seemed all happy and excited about today, but look at the bright sight, you'll relive the same excitements all over again....
Impatience makes the goal worthwhile....something said by..?? shoot???I don't know.

that's a really good point about getting to relive the same excitements... i think it's going to be a few days to get that back.

Reading your post every day at least you kept your cool i would have snaped.
& you didn't  have a cigarette which must have been hard

So our holiday screwed up your appointment, but how would our holiday mess you up ?  Is the  place you are getting your shot in Canada?

Yep you really must be disapointed after getting that close.  You would think that they would have been more aware of the holiday schedule.  I wonder how many other people they messed up.  Well one good thing is you resited the temptation to smoke, and it is going to happen hon.

When you do get there I would seriously start asking questions about how this happened.  If the boob who told you to come in on Canada day did it because of a personal agenda, he should be disciplined, even fired, if ya ask me.

What the hell ? That is a bunch of crap! Like Stepine said, you think they would be more aware of upcoming holidays on their schedule. I got to get my second shot on Friday actually early, otherwise I too would of had to wait until after July 4, our Independance Day so they are closed that day. I wondered why we hadn't heard from you about it. Amy is sweet you know. I think you took it better than I would. I am such a hot head. Alright then. We will countdown with you again.

Friday was the day before Canada day. I bet what happened is the dr decided at the last minute to take Friday off and didn't tell the staff.

stephanie, i didn't know you were a fellow canadian! i'm definately a canadian eh, which is why i love canada so much and was really disappointed that i had to hate it on one of my favorite holidays!

i should have thought about it being canada day july 1st, but i was so stoked about the t that i totally forgot! and the doctor could very well have taken the day off at the last minute on friday... who knows, lots of options but no answers... yet!

thanks to all of you for the awesome support these past couple days, i really wanted to lose it, but it wouldn't have gotten me my shot, and i would have lost it on nobody that deserved it. i will be talking to the guy who "scheduled" my appointment and ask him what the hell he was thinking!

i think i'm going to take this week to start writing some new music (i've put that aside for awhile) and tie up some loose ends of my "alter ego" so that i can get my name changed on all of my identification (even though my liscence is done and officially in!).

going to call the office tomorrow and find out when the next available appointment is, i'll keep you all posted!

Yep, I finally got my shot on July 6th (I think I made a post about that)!!!

And I was so excited to get the shot last Thursday that I didn't even care about how pissed off I was at the receptionist! I've known all of them for 4 years and it could have very well been an honest mistake. I was hopping mad for the first couple days after it happened and was able to let it go and realize that he obviously didn't do it to be malicious. Although it was super disappointing at the time, atleast I finally got my T!
