Stabbed myself

So went in for my injection yesterday, and the lady asked if I wanted to do it. I've been wanting to learn, even though I'm deathly afraid of needles. First we were gonna do it in my butt, but that seemed too complicated so I decided my leg. She cleans off my skin, hands me the needle and I say "Nevermind, go ahead and do it" lol. She wouldn't take no for an answer, so I put my fingers over hers, 1...2...and stabbed myself, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at all. I know when it comes down to me sitting in my apt, not the office, doing it myself, anxiety will kick in.
I go in for my vials next week, hopefully everything turns out good, and I can up my dosage. How many of you do self-injections, and how long did it take to get "use to it", if at all. How do you get yourself to just do it so to speak?

Never done hormones but I gave myself injections of interferon 3 times a week for a year.  I got used to it after the first one.  Really, it's no big deal.  If you're fast you can do it without drawing blood.  There's only a drop or 2 if you do.

first time is always a bit nervewracking.  i've given myself the injection every time, but the first time i did it at home i dropped my syringe.  it was pretty funny.  i was shakin.  didn't hurt.  it hurts now but only for a sec.

i just do it... first couple of times by myself it took me awhile and i was pretty anal.  now it takes me a couple of minutes tops.  you'll get the hang of it dude.

Well thats funny as we speak im trying to self inject myself and I cant do it I feel sick.. bloody 31/2 inch needle.. grrrr!! I really need to do it im a day late but I just cant... *crys*

I dont think we're allowed to self inject here in Sweden.
We inject every 8, 10, or 12th week (depends on how your body is responding to the hormones).

Are you kidding me?  What are you trying to hit with that?  Yikes!!

I deal with lots of needles and didn't think I'd have any problems self-injecting. But a 3 1/2 inch needle?  I'm crying with ya, bro!

yeah its 3 1/2 inch its a IM intra-musclar injection so I need that bigger needle.. after about 10 pot holes in my thigh where I wimped out my mum (trained nurse) did it for me! YAY!

wtf, i use 1.5 inch.  Maybe you've got more muscle than i do though.

you just gotta jab... the more you hesitate the more it hurts.

3 1/2 inches?!??!!    Wow, I dont know if Id be able to do it...my hats of to you. It never really hurt but I do get a little anxious sometimes. You'll get use to it...

Well yeah my doctor told me that I needed that big of a needle sucks.. I might see if there is any other sort of mediation I can take instead of injection next time I go.. I heard the gel is good but he didn't recommended because I have a partner... hmmm..

Well, if you put gel on in the morning after you've taken a shower, and you were clothes on all day (or wear a tshirt/binder whatever to cover up the area with gel, if you're having sex or doing something that usually involve naked bodies). Then its not a problem. The endo is probably gonna put me on gel as well.
