Wow. Rachel and I are back in the office after a terrific day on Capitol Hill to attend today's congressional committee on transgender issues.

The panel of lay witnesses hit a home run in putting real faces and real voices to the persistent discrimination that many transgender Americans endure daily -- and often without legal recourse. Sadly, that's the reality for too many transgender individuals. This hearing is the first step in promoting the understanding that our elected officials need to pass legislation that is fair for all Americans.
