"A U.S. House subcommittee heard today that discrimination against
"transgender" Americans apparently is pervasive in the U.S.

The Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions Subcommittee hearing came
in response to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act — passed by the
House in November — which gives special rights to homosexuals in the
workplace but doesn't include "transgendered" individuals. The Senate
has not taken up the legislation."
