Dr. Ngyuen and SRS?

I know that there was a recent thread on here about an Orhie. procedure with him. However, I am strongly considering SRS and Dr. Ngyuen would be highly convenient for me since I have family in the Portland area. Convenience alone is not a strong enough reason to choose a doctor, for sure. Though, I have heard he trained under Dr. Meltzer. I would hope and expect that a good measure of the same quality would be there. What I'd like to know of course is, has anyone actually had SRS surgery with him or do you know of anyone who has and what outcomes were obtained? I was however, not impressed by the one picture that I saw on his site. Thanks all!

I also would like to talk to a former patient.  I have chosen him, for now, for a similar reason.  I live into the Portland area.  Using him will cut out the costs of traveling and lodging.

I am not sure of the two step, as opposed to the one step.  But I can live with that if the results are good.

I had a consult with him but chose Brownstein, but I am FTM. I can let you know he does use interns so he had three of them in the office along with him while he examined me. The reason I chose not to use him was because he wanted to do the nipple reduction later in his office (1 year later) and I wanted it done all at once, I also talked to some guys locally and online who said the in office nipple reduction was pure torture because of the lack of anesthesia, he doesn't use as mcuh as he should.  Sorry I can't help much. The consult is $60 and goes toward your surgery if you want to go see what you think. He seemed like a really nice guy I had no problem with his bedside manner or anything like that at all. Just be aware and let him know if you don't want a group looking at you during the exam.

Thanks Janet and Myles! Seems like there needs to be more info about Dr. Ngyuen. I have emailed his office about SRS and recieved a response that is essentially just teeling me that they adhere to WPATH guidleines. However, it was very cordial and inviting.

I still have a bit of time to figure out who I'll be "hiring" for the job, lol. So, hopefully there will be more info on the good Dr. to come.

I think I will schedule a consult with him when I next make a trip up there.

Thanks,

Dawn

I'm not sure if he gave you an information packet in the email, but from what I know, he does straight 2 stage penile inversion, at a cost of 15k for SRS, and $4,000 for labiaplasty. (as of this post)

I've attached the "Inquiry letter" for all to view.
As far as his surgical ability goes, I'm no help there  ???
