Hi,

I've read from a few places that hormones have a mental effect on people. I'm just interested to know, what are these metal effects? How do they affect how a person feels? etc.

I knew about the physical effects but the mental effects are newer to me.

From what Ive heard, estrogen (and t-blockers) will make you more emotional. In many cases it will get easier to cry and to show affection. Ive also heard that many girls start wanting sex for different reasons than before (mainly for connecting with partner(s), because they are in love etc). I dont think its like this for everyone tho.

As for FtMs, Ive heard its common to get more aggressive, less sensitive, finding it harder to cry and show affection. Oh, and wanting sex more often and having it just because its sex. But, most people I know who are on T experience none or little of these changes.

some changes in personality/behavior wouldnt surprise me at all.

When I was on Premarin, I found that sad things (movies, sights, pictures and such) made me feel very weepy and sorta afraid that there was nothing that I could do to "fix" the problem. I'd choke up and get quivery in my voice and couldn't get control of my emotions.

Remember that Martians (men) want to fix things rather than talk them over for camaraderie and the female quorum of being in sync with another woman.

Now..Venetians (women) are just happy to commiserate..group hugs and crying jags with chocolate ice cream and all.....but I am digressing here...let me get back on track.

Since I have restarted on Progynova, I find that the emotional roller coaster doesn't raise it's head this time.

Thankfully now I don't get all sad and out of joint..and I especially don't feel that I need to cry or get choked up like the Premarin did to me before.

So..I offer that some "E"s do things that other "E"s don't.

I also had faster and more obvious physical changes with the Premarin...but this time I am just filling out in all those "places" a lot better.

I'm actually like this as a "male"... So I can only wonder what HRT is going to be like once started...
