Flo

Hi all,

Finally registered as have been here lurking for years, but since starting to transition last year decided I may as well register and seek the advice and knowledge.

I need to figure out how to update my profile etc., but guess that will come with time.

I am MtF transgendered, giving serious thought to HRT but not SRS...too fat and ugly for that! Okay...maybe not that fat.   I believe I could never fully pass but think HRT may help ease the "internal conflict" a bit.  Hope that makes sense.

Not having the easiest time of it since I have always suffered from anxiety and depression a bit (have had 10 years of psychotherapy) but am swimming through the mud.

Told myself that I would not come out until my Father moved on in this world, but it's looking like he will out live Methusela (spelling error?)

Happy to be here...kinda sorta...LOL

Hope to be part of the family.

Guess I can reply to my own post to pose a question.  If I registered am I a still a visitor?

Welcome, Flo.

If you don't worry about passing, you will probably pass in time.  So much of it is confidence and attitude.

As far as Visitor is concerned, you will receive a membership upgrade once you pass 15 posts.  Then you will be able to post a picture, PM folks, and earn points toward your toaster oven (kidding).

Glad to see you decided to register and post.

Welcome to Susan's, Flo.

I think I already sent this to you as a PM or on another post, but I'll put it in your intro as well!!

Please take some time to read The Site Rules and on The Main Page you can discover Links, Chat and Wiki for your use as well. You might also want to go to the "Announcements" section and read the two posts "Post Ranks" and "Reputation Rules" to help you with some knowledge about when you can apply your own avatars, PM, and what those lil stars mean beneath all of our names and how to get them for yourself as well!! :)

It's great to have you here! :) Enjoy your stay.

Hey Flo, as we discussed in Chat, there are many people here to help.

The whole prospect of transition can be daunting, but many people have gone before you, been through this and come out the other side better, happier people.

We all come to a place in our life when we have to face our fears and plunge into the unknown, you are there now, but never feel you are alone.

Hi Flo, I really empatise with your comments about your father.

I'm convinced that when I finally decide to tell mine, that it will probably be the last conversation we have (he's just like that)..

I often think transitioning is like swimming, you know you have to get in the water to learn...
....but each time you put your toe-in to test the temperature, your confidence is challenged.

There's nothing like the encouragement of freinds already in the water to help make that first splash, and do it safely!

..So you're one step ahead of me already, as I although I have practiced the techiques and I know I have got to do it...

.. I am still sitting on the dry land trying to sort my life out, while building up the courage...
