During the June 3 rally - a march across the Brooklyn Bridge - Davis was interviewed by NYC all-news radio station WINS.

Davis identified herself as a member of the military and said she supported same-sex marriage.  She then told WINS that she looked forward to one day being able to marry her partner of more than three years.

Two days later Davis's commanding officer informed her that, after being made aware of the interview by callers to the office where she is stationed, the command was forced to discharge her under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," the law, which prohibits openly lesbian, gay and bisexual personnel from serving in the armed forces.

It's interesting that before she revealed that she was a lesbian that her country would have graciously let her sacrifice her life for her country and citizens she helps protect.

While gays and lesbians are allowed to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces, there is still some controversy over their being able to serve.  But they are afforded full rights and protections.

ALL military personel knows that if they are outed, they will be booted out.  Thousands have been expelled and it will not end anytime soon.

The funny thing is how many guys come up from the military bases and cruise at the gay bars.  There's a tonne of them!

My point is, she was an idiot if she expected to out herself and remain in the service.  If she was just sacrificing everything on principal and did this on purpose, knowing full well what she did then perhaps she may one day be considered one of the heroes of the movement.
