Although my full time transition is going just fine where I am now living, I am feeling the need to move to a larger city that has gender resources, more job opportunities etc. and to be closer to my family. I went on Craigslist and found several studio apartments that would be perfect. But before I contact them for information...

I am interested in hearing other TG's experiences about looking for a place to live. Were you concern about discrimination from the landlord? Were you upfront with him/her in the initial contact? The state I am moving to (Colorado) has Transgender job, housing, etc. laws on the books but can I really depend on that for protection?
