Rock'n'roll hard-man Jimmy Barnes has a soft spot for drag queens. The former Cold Chisel frontman joined a gaggle of queens for the launch of the Drag Industry Variety Awards at Stonewall, a gay nightclub on Oxford Street, yesterday. A veteran of "many, many" Mardi Gras parties, Barnes used two transsexual strippers in a reunion tour concert in 1998, leading to double-takes from the front row after the final reveal. The rocker said his affection for the drag community divided some of his fans - and some in the gay community.
