Just sticking my head in to say hi, and introduce myself.  I'm new here, but not really that new to the ideas or even community in many ways.

I try not to be stealth, but I'm not obsessed about gender anymore, so it really doesn't come up in life.  My life until recently, my history, my past is, was a wild, wild ride, but it's what was then.  Now I'm about the present, living each day, and finding balance in all things.  The result?  I'm pretty much the girl next door.  Unless there's a good reason, or somehow specifically asks me about it, I don't really bring it up.

So there are plenty of people in my life that never knew the old me.  Plenty of people who did and are thankfully still part of my life.  Quite often they overlap.  It really isn't, when all is said and done about gender, it's about freedom and balance, at least for me it is.

Why am I here?  Believe or not because someone had posted a link from one of my blog entries over here and I thought I'd take a look...

One of the things I find most interesting is how little community there is in this community.  So I'm always looking for more.  I've met plenty of TS/IS people over the years since I started my journey toward resolving my own issues, and everyone is so distant from everyone else.  Community doesn't know about other parts of it, there isn't much in the way of serious connectivity save for some of the larger sites.  That's kinda sad.  Why, because we are many, and no woman or man is an island, yet that's what the world tries to make us feel like.

Me, I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Published Photographer, Writer, and an Aunt who loves all her nieces and nephews equally...  Though to be honest my namesake Sam has an extra little place in my heart, I mean he was after all named after his Aunt Samantha.  Frankly, it's so very cool!

So, anyway, that's the nickle tour...

Oh, yeah, and the Greeneyed Mountain Girl part?

Well I have greeneyes, love mountains of any kind, but especially the Rockies, and well, last but no least, I'm a girl.  So there you have it!

I'm living in the great Cincinnati area of Ohio right now, but my heart belongs to the Rocky Mountains outside of Denver.  One of these day's I'll get back home to Denver, for now however I'm enjoying the river, and hanging out with friends and family.  My namesake lives nearby, so I'm really enjoying watching him grow.  He's just the coolest little guy in the world!

Hi, Sam, welcome to Susan's.

So many of us have same but different stories, but most do have at least some of the flavor of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! :) And I truly liked your thoughts about connectivity and community. Most of us are very truly scattered. And so often if we aren't, we often don't know about any others near us.

Enjoy your stay. I imagine we will enjoy your stay.

Well, until you return to your heart's home, greetings from the high country!

Wait, I did NOT mean to imply that anyone has a part they must play. Hell no, that exactly what's wrong with some of the community, they want to insist that people do things the way THEY SAY or not at all.  They claim that if you're not doing what they say you're some sort of inhuman monster holding everyone back.  THAT I'm here to tell you is WRONG.

You are doing you're part, you're here, sharing with other women who have some idea what you're going through.  That's good babygirl!  You do the same for the women here, that's good too.  There are no rules, no one person or persons that say who is, and is not "doing it right" so to speak.

No worries girl, you do what you can, when you can in a way that is safe and comfortable for you.

Transition is in some ways, taking back our power, freedom and our own hearts.  Not selling out to a new set of masters.  Be free, be honest and true to you, and some where along the way, it will come together.

Thank you for being part of this community and letting us get to know you.

Hi Sam,
Welcome to Susan's! It sounds like you've been down the path of visiting different sites/communities and seeing what they have to offer. I hope you find a place right here where you feel that sense of community you've felt had been lacking in other sites. I really think we have something special here. We don't always agree but I think there's definitely a degree of mutual respect here that you won't find anywhere else. The immediacy of Susan's is also refreshing. We have many message posts that have responses in the same day that I think you won't find anywhere else. Well, ok, you get the picture, lol, I hope you enjoy it here :) Meghan

Thanks Meghan!

So far this place seems a cut above the rabble, and certainly a nice place full of cool people.  So I've gone ahead and added a link back to this place from my blog.  Not something I do lightly.  Ironically I found out about Susan's from my blog, someone place a link to my blog from here so I came over to explore.

Yeah, I've been around the community for a while.  I started my journey officially in '03 with what I called a ten year plan.  My body had other ideas...  So now, not wanting to be one of the women who transitions and vanishes, I keep a blog, and wander about letting people know this condition cane be survived and life go on after wards...  I also try to lend a helping hand, and/or emotional support to people just getting started, cause I remember those days...

Thanks for the welcome!
