Gender/Sex Marker Change Letter

Didn't exactly know which forum to put this in so i stuck with the broad/inclusive forum.  Also pretty sure that this has been answered before.

I got the letter from my doc to send into the License department... now i just need to figure out what to put in my personal letter.  Not exactly sure if it should be short and sweet or if they're looking for something else?

Does anyone have a link or can provide a generic example of what has been approved?  The clinic said they haven't had any problems and I don't want to be the first.

Kind of need to know where you are located. The rules vary.

I for one have never heard of needing a personal letter. Everywhere I have heard of uses a form. Here in California it is DMV form DL-328 that needed to be signed by a doctor.

It really does vary from state to state...

If your in Texas there are no forms, you have to draft a petition and present it in front of a judge... and there are no gaurentee  as to weather or not they will accept it...

yeah thanks, i figured that stuff out.  There are three requirements, one which is....

2.  A letter from you stating intent ( asking them officially to change your gender marker)

I was wondering if i just keep it simple or what *shrug*

I couldn't tell you, as I am in Cali and all I needed was the DMV form signed by my Endo. However, I would suspect that they are only looking for a brief "official" statement for the record. I don't think they have time or the need to read a long biography. A short and sweet statement should suffice, in my opinion.

love this one for ftm's for Ohio, when has there been a successful penile surgery? as far as i know there hasn't been one, am i wrong guys?

so how can their sex organ have changed but for a mtf they have to spend excess amounts of money to change anything?

I'm going to go out on a limb here -

"Sex organ changed" does not specifically say what was changed.

Top surgery for a FTM qualifies from what I've read. I'm guessing a hysterectomy could also qualify.

In California, the key phrase seems to be "irreversiible surgical and/or medical treatment to alter the sexual characteristics" and does not require specifics.

Hmm, I wonder if FFS would then be able to count since it is altering the sexual characteristics. I'm going to ask my surgeon about this and see if maybe he'll be able to fill out the letter. That would be awesome if I can change my gender marker before SRS.

I would say you could come visit pittsburgh LOL    I don't know about rest of state but haven't had to many problems here
