http://www.denverpost.com/entertainment/ci_10132501Hayes, a New York artist whose work has been featured at the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center and elsewhere, plans an Aug. 27 event on the 16th Street Mall. It is taking place in conjunction with "Dialog:City: An Event Converging Art, Democracy and Digital Media," a series of art offerings Aug. 21-29 under the auspices of the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs.
The mall recitation and a parallel event during the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis are part of Creative Time's national public-art initiative, "Democracy in America: The National Campaign."
For this undertaking, titled "Revolutionary Love 1: I Am Your Worst Fear," Hayes plans to assemble 75 to 100 local members of the gay, lesbian and transgender community who for two hours will recite texts that deal with the intersection of political desire and romantic love.
