It's gonna be alright...

Here I am in my apartment, alone for the first time.

You all know how I've been freaking out about college, but really, I think I'm going to be okay  :)

I teared up when I said bye to my Mom simply because she did, but once I hit the road, singing at the top of my lungs.  I realized its gonna be okay.  I've been a little lonely, but not near as lonely as I thought I would be. I overreacted way too much. I actually kind of like the peace and quiet.

I AM however getting a dog tomorrow.  I've been wanting a companion for quite sometime, especially because I go running, so I wanted a running buddy to keep me company/safe.  I said I'd only get a dog if he was already housebroken and calm.  This lady is giving away a dog (that's right, free) that she adopted on Saturday because she's allergic :( he's neutered, housetrained, microchipped, and calm.  AND she's giving me all of this things (bowls, chew toys, etc) Half German Shepherd, half Husky.  What do you think?

My GBLT meeting is also tomorrow, I can't wait for that.  I'll let you guys know how it goes.

My boyfriend and I are doing almost perfect.  He's at his friend's birthday dinner tonight but he's been VERY sweet today.  I don't remember who said it on here, but someone said maybe he didn't know he was hurting my feelings or aware of it.  That's what he said.  Hopefully it's true.

I've had a bad few weeks guys, but thank you SO much for being there for me.  Things are really starting to get brighter and I know I wouldn't make it through those dark times without yall. Thank you so much, really.

I'm so glad things are going well! You sound just like me about the loneliness thing. I'm alone a lot, but I have this feeling of productivity, even when I'm just sitting around listening to music. I guess independence feels like moving forward even at those moments when everything else is still. I have this feeling like I just don't have time to dwell on the unhappy things, but the happy things are always there. I met a really cute, flamboyant guy today who said to my friend, about me, "I like how he's the only person in the world whose voice is higher than mine" and never asked any awkward questions despite me bringing up trans people and my friend talking about my "girl butt." I keep thinking about it and smiling. I'm stressed about classes and stuff, but I'm just not letting that get through to me. It's amazing. I hope you get the same effect from college. As for the dog, he sounds adorable. I always wanted a husky or husky mix, because I loved wolves as a kid. Got an idea for a name yet?

Your dog looks wonderful! There's nothing like the companionship of a dog-friend, imho.

I wish the best for you Brady!

Yeah I feel kinda lonely but congrats on going stealth :) Michael, you and I are buds now because we are both at college haha

I love that dog already :)

It's a tradition in my family to name a dog a B name.  You see, every time my family (extended included) gets a dog and doesn't name it a B name it dies within like 6 months.  (It's happened to every non B named dog for the past 8 years or so, so we stopped even trying).  In my family, we currently have Bo, Bouncer, Brinkley, Buddy, and Brody haha. I really, really wanted to name my dog Angel, after my idol from Rent.  But, it has to be a B name.  So I was thinking Brandon, in honor of Brandon Teena and Brandon from Beverly Hills 90210 (my favorite show ever).  But, since I love New York so much, I was thinking Bronx.  Plus, that makes him sound tough.

Your dog looks amazing Brady! Those two breeds, especially mixed together are usually pretty active when young so he should be a perfect running buddy. How old is he?

Bronx sounds like a cool name and just one syllable so it's easy to say. :D

I'm happy that you feel a lot better about moving and being alone for a while, but now the dog should help till your man gets home to keep you company 8) :o

He's barely a year old I believe.  I had seen a few Husy/Shepherd mixes on Google Image or Photobucket or something, but when she sent the picture I was in awe.  Such a beautiful dog.

Haha, my boyfriend is going to be pissed if he knows I got a dog.  I should just surprise him. Talk about my new friend "Bronx" and how I can't wait for them to meet haha

Glad to see things turning up for you.  Nice dog.  I hope he ends up liking you.  I adopted my dog over a year and a half ago and for some reason he does not like me  :'(.  Good luck at your GLBT meeting.

I like the name Bronx too. Hang in there things ALWAYS get better sooner or later. I kind of like being alone once the inital shock is over..Camden

Glad to hear things are looking up.  :)  What a great-looking dog.  I used to have a german shepard/husky mix.  Best dog I ever had.  Ah, the stories I could tell.  Like the time she tackled a police officer. :D  And you're right.  A dog is a really good thing to have with you when you go running.  A must-have security system, unless you live in a really safe little town, or are built like a truck.  ;)

No matter what, your dog will always love you.

That said, one of my two little ->-bleeped-<-s peed on my bed tonight, right after I made it up with fresh sheets and blankets.  I love them but some days I want to strangle them!!

That sucks.  :-\  My dog used to poop in my bedroom doorway whenever she got mad at me.   >:( Fortunately, that only happened occasionally.

Not all of them.  Mine only barks if you play with the flashlight or if he has a case of the runs (which usually only happens when he kidnaps my buffalo wings).  Mostly it depends on the breed (which determines the temperment); a beagle will bark loud and often, a shiba inu will hardly make a sound.

Dogs are great friends. It is good fun to have a good long walk with them in the morning, one again in the afternoon and a run in the evening. They need that, especially when there is Husky mixed in there. Sledding dogs go bananas without enough exercise.

And while 500 bucks is a lot of money, I would advice you to think about keeping the dog if you cannot pay it. Because if he needs a surgery, the costs can be very high. I am not seeking to put a damper on your joy and love of the dog, but I am being practical. Fact of the matter is that dogs cost a lot of money. Can you go to dogtraining with him? That would be a great way for you and him to bond.

I really hope that you and your new buddy are able to stay together. But I did want to make these side-notes.

PolarBear, who hopes he is not being a party-pooper.
