LGBT rights pioneer Del Martin passes away

Del (in wheelchair) and Phyllis, along with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who married them -- the first day same-sex marriage was legalized in the Golden State.

What sad news --  but you have to rejoice that Del Martin was able to live to see the day when she could legally marry her long-time partner and fellow activist Phyllis Lyon in California. Gifts in lieu of flowers can be made to honor Del's life and commitment and to defeat the California marriage ban through NCLR's No On 8 PAC at www.nclrights.org/NoOn8.
