Should I worry about what comes after a therapist name? Is there something I should look for? Here are examples for my area.

Psychologist Ed.D. there is two of them with in 100 miles

Counselor, Sex Therapist,  sex Educator, PhD, LPC, MHSP  she no longer available she only does things for a school system

Psychotherapy MS This is the one I thinking about going to. She was highly recommended.

Or does this stuff only matter for second srs letter? I would like to know what some of the letters mean.

Thanks
Anna

Well, you can google or Wiki the degree types, those will have the same definition anywhere in the country i'd think, but from country to country no idea.

As far as what is considered sufficient licencing to obtain your letters, i think ive heard around here that that varies by state.

SOC pretty much says if one is from a psychologist with a masters, the other should be from one with a psychiatrist or phd psychologist.
It also says one letter should be an extensive report and the other can be a brief version of it with an agreement with the recommendation.

State Department of Health or Physicians board should have that info.
