The final moments of my transition are here & I'm ok, finally at peace, not fetting about the inevitable anymore.  The coming days will be restless but indispensable for completion.  I'm more worried about the long return flight than the surgery itself in all honesty.

I'm leaving my native Sofia on Monday 15, flying to Paris first, changing flights there & then flying non-stop to Bangkok.  Once in Bangkok, I'm changing carriers and flying to Phuket.  The total estimated duration of my trip will be 20hrs with connections & I'm ok with it.  Just wondering how I will manage the return trip home 3 weeks later. My parents will be with me, so I think I'm just going to be fine!

Surgery is on Sept 20 at 7:00a.m. Phuket time.  Just wanted to thank you all for all the marvelous support.  If you believe in a higher power, please share me in your prayers. If you don't, send me good energy anyways! Thank you.

You'll be fine Valentina, I remember I was a little nevious, it was all over before it sank in, my parents where with me, but my Mam was more excited than I was, she was finally getting a daughter she always wanted, when its all over and you start the road to healing, it is a great feeling.
Have a safe trip, everything will go right, its 2008.

Hi Valentina, I would have missed this post if I hadn't been up late and clicking randomly for new threads. Congratulations on going to Thailand for your surgery in 7 day huh, "wow!!"
But yes of course I will send prayers.

I will be going to Quebec with Wing Walker on the 3rd on November for the surgery. Where ever she goes I go it don't mater to me where that is.

Congrats, Valentina!

For what it's worth, it took us 12 hours to drive home just 1 week after my SRS... and I did reasonably OK. Sore, but it was tolerable. I didn't drive though, so I just reclined the seat, took the pain meds I'd saved up, and tried to relax ;)

Best wishes for a safe journey, easy op and speedy recovery!

Thank you for all your good wishes everybody. We're home since Thursday & I'm good doing my follow up care.  I have minor discomfort but no pain. Feeling a little weak but happy to know that I had achieved my dream.  Still got to have my energy back but other than that I'm doing great.  My trip to Thailand was marvelous. Everybody was nice & helpful trying their best to speak English. Dr Sanguan demonstrated an ability to ensure that I was treated in the most effective way. The nurses were always on hand at the end of the call button and at no time I felt compromised. Walking along the private beach at the Hotel the evening before we came home is something I will never forget. Better stop now. Thank you everybody :)
