Finally introducing myself!

Hello everyone!

I'm Alexandra.  I'm 20 years old and attending university here in boring Indiana (ugh!) majoring in English, not really leading an exciting life at the moment besides writing poetry and doing homework, but I'm getting things taken care of.  I'm a 'tgirl' who's been out for a few years, and even in school I was always the androgynous looking "he she" so I've never really had a sudden jolt to transition, it was rather a steady (and eye opening!) growth into it.

The friends I've made through professors and students on campus have been nothing but wonderful about who I am.  One instructor in particular printed out a little certificate praising my "Absolute Bravery" in both academia (I had willingly given a speech about being a trans) and life in general.  My mother has also been extremely supportive and has helped me through all the legal and medical processing. 

Actually, there really isn't much for me to worry about now, besides maybe saving up for some FFS, letting hormones do their thing and oh, I dunno, graduating!    Just wish there were more to do here in farmer county!

Welcome to our little family. Over  2024 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.

Hi Alexandra, welcome to Susan's. Wow, you have done truly well, that is such wonderful news. Sadly too often one hears too many of the sad and the lost type of stories. This indicates to me  that you must have and upbeat and positive personality, and that is the only way to fly. I will send prayers that all will continue to go well for you.

It sounds like you are doing extraordinarily well with all things transition. You should be able to add immeasurably to the Forum with your experience. The support of you mother is absolutely fantastic which also makes you very fortunate. Fortune, intelligence and experience: what a wonderful combination to tied up in a younger person!!
