I have looked hi and low for who I think are great surgeons for me to my surgeries.

I choose Dr. Gary Alter (Dr. 90210) who is out of LA for my SRS surgeries.  I heard a lot of great reviews from girls that had their surgeries with him.

For my FFS I am wanting to go with Dr. Ousterhout.  Again going on personal stories and seeing the pictures on his web site.

Has anyone here been to these Dr's?  I would love to get your opinions on them.

Uh oh, mentioning Dr. O can get into a heated conversation. Here's my take on it...

I, and a few of my friends, have been to Dr. O. Most (like 99.9%) of the pictures I've seen of his work are excellent and look as natural as can be achieved, even on the worst case scenarios. Yes, he is old, but god knows you wouldn't know it by how he acted. He seems like he's still a kid. His staff is amazing. His (well, two nurses at Davies) after-care is very comfortable and supportive. Yes, he suggests everything to you, but that's because he's a perfectionist. That doesn't mean you actually have to go with everything. I have only had chin work and a trachea shave with him so far, but have the rest scheduled for January. I did not go for every single procedure, just the ones that I am uncomfortable with. From personal experience of my own surgery with him, along with multiple friends of mine who look great, I would say Dr. O is a great choice.

Yes, other people will tell you he is too expensive, too old, too this, or too that. The bottom line is, go to San Francisco, get a consultation, if he doesn't fit the bill for you then consult with others (which you may want to do anyways).

As far as Dr. Alter, I have no experience so maybe others here can give you their feedback on him.

Good luck on your search!

Ditto completely what SarahR said....Dr. O was my choice for FFS. I went with Marci Bowers in Colorado for my SRS. I don't know anything about Dr. Alter, however Dr. Meltzer and Dr. Brassard were my two runner ups for SRS.

I have heard all of that about Dr. O.  I have never really heard anything bad about him from people that decided to go with him for FFS.  Its funny for the longest time I was stuck on going to Dr. Alter for SRS, but I have been reading and I feel that going to Dr. Christine McGinn would be a better choice for SRS.  She is also closer.  I was looking at having FFS and SRS during a month.  Basically have Dr. O do the FFS and then drive down to LA go to Dr. Alter.  Now I think I will have SRS done with Dr. McGinn and then later go to Dr. O.

I actually saw a seminar by Dr. O in April, and was very impressed. But after talking to a lot of girls in the area, found that his work comes out looking the same for everyone. They have actually coined the phrase "Dr. O Girl" up here... Through a friend, I ran across Dr. Joel Beck, went and saw him, loved his suggestions, and within 2 weeks was on his table, and a new woman. Life altering, with little modifications and low cost. Great staff and bedside manner. He's definitely worth checking out!! They'll know me by name if you tell them I sent ya, too. I can't say enough good about him!!

I would also like to know if anyone here, knows of a good FFS surgeon on the east coast!

I know Dr. Spiegel exists, but I have heard nothing about his work. Does anyone here have any experience with him?
