Well, hi there. I'm pretty shy and I don't introduce myself to people often, so here goes nothing!

My name is Michelle, but I prefer to be called Aiden online, concerning that is the only place I feel I can be myself. I'm seventeen (I know, I'm young) and my heart and mind tell me that I'm supposed to be male. In fact, I've accepted that fact. I live on a crappy military base with my military family that isn't too open to people being different, which upsets me of course. I'm going to be graduating in May of 2009 and I'm hoping to move to San Diego where everyone is different and come from places all over.

I have been doing as much research as possible, but I'm really not sure where to begin on things and then I stumbled here! This seems like a wonderful place to read about others who are way ahead of me and their feelings.

Haha! I know that alot of people struggle for the longest time. I don't want to feel that because I'm not doing what everyone else did that I was wrong. XP

Hey the best think about forums like this is you can get a range of opinions (hell, just ask me and Nichole and we can give you five opinions between the two of us) and options, and things to consider.  It might not all apply to you (and add the word 'yet' to that, as some things might well apply in the future) and some are happy, others sad, but that's just real life.  So read and ask, and find what works best for you.  Despite the number of people on this board (or any internet board for that matter) who feel like they get to fill in for god on his day off and issue pronouncements about 'how it's suppozed to be' - at best and worse, its their life,and their life only.  It might not apply to all.
