I have found two progestins that work fabulously for me, even better than micronized progesterone: Chlormadinone Acetate and Dienogest. Either one is fine. I know this might seems counterintuitive because we're told not to use synthetic progestins. Well this is true only in so far as the ones in the popular contraceptives, like levonorgestrel, norethindrone, norgestrel etc. Those are actually derivatives of 19-nor-testosterone, so seriously do not even think about taking these if you're TS (pre or post). They WILL have some androgenic effects long term. I personally do not like Provera either.
Now with chlormadinone and dienogest, they are actually derivatives of natural progesterone, even though they are technically "synthetic" because their molecular structure is not identical. But they are the closest thing you can get to natural progesterone and they have the same anti-androgenic effects, but without the terrible dizziness, drunk feeling that micronized progesterone gives many people. Unfortunately, these are not available in the US, but since you're in the UK you should not have trouble finding one or the other.
