though i've been full time for quiet a while and have been okay while interacting
with other gals, I still cannot be myself sometimes when it comes to guys. What I
wanna say is : I feel from nervous to very nervous when I am stared at by guys, be
they the ones I know or just those walking on the streets. The situation is even
worse if the guy is cute. I sometimes don't even know what I am doing and talking in
front of a cute guy.....

Is there any medication that can help?

What is it about guys staring at you that makes you nervous?
Natura nihil frustra facit.

If you're dealing with self esteem issues, maybe click here. There may be something you find useful. :)
Above all... remember: you are beautiful, you are valuable, and you have a shining spark of magnificence within you. Don't let anyone take that from you. Embrace who you are. <3

Don't forget, it's perfectly ok for a girl to feel a bit flustered when a cute guy looks at her! So don't be too hard on yourself!  :) I wouldn't rush into taking medication as your feelings sound perfectly normal and well-adjusted. Maybe it's just something you'll work through as you grow as a woman - but it's probably worth talking to your therapist about it if you still have one.

You might want to try "Confidence" by Paul McKenna - it's a book with a hypnosis CD. It was recommended to me by my occupational health psychiatrist when I told him about my transition. I was pretty dubious at first (thinking I was happy and confident enough already thank you very much!) but this didn't seem like the time to be closed-minded so I gave it a try. And as it turned out, I think it's been really helpful. I'm not as far along as you but in presenting as female in the big wide world, I went from terrified to comfortable surprisingly quickly...

Good luck with everything!

I have a habit of turning my head, similar to my avatar, to look at a cute guy's butt.  And when they turn towards me, as if they feel me looking, I turn red.  Thank the Goddess for foundation.  Yesterday I got caught and he turned and smiled and winked at me.  If he had came over and started to talk to me, I know that I would have sounded like a major league stroke victim.  But he moved on. * Whew *

Oh, that one must have had a gorgeous, little bubble-butt, eh, Janet? You like that, don't ya? You know you want it. You know you want it.

My suggestion for the original problem would be to just say something complimentary. Try flirting a little.

A couple of good stiff drinks before hand will help.  ::)

Seriously, if you are getting "checked out", ENJOY IT! It is a compliment.

(When I was young, I used to revel in it. Now, at my age, it happens far too infrequently.)

ask him what size shoe he takes pmsl  ;D :P
  •

Janet_Girl

The shoe size is a myth.  The best way to tell is to have them fold their fingers over their palm and mark where the fingers touch.  Open the hand and measure to the tips of the fingers.

Or you could just ask and subtract 4 inches.

How do I make guys leave me alone?
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

Are you bragging or complaining?

I'm serious, guys are after me all the time, and I don't want their attention, I just wish they would leave me alone.

One thing I do is to wear a wedding ring.  I know it's kinda cheesy, and a fake one.  But you would be surprised how many guys look down there at your finger. :D

I love to be and feel less challenged in the company of guys than of other women.

With guys you talk about "guy" things like football, cars and IT things, way more so than you talk about "touchy feely" stuff  and shopping ... they like that.

The cuter the guy the harder I try, and I get results ...  ;D ...

But I never had bad experience with guys in my "past life", and was always popular and included, despite being perceived as gay ...

So its all to do with confidence ... and a drink or two really helps ... honestly
