Hi everyone,

I'm really proud of myself today. I participated in a 5 km run today, and finished it. :icon_walk:
It was raining, and muddy, and my first race ever, so I was really nervous beforehand. But all went well. (The changing rooms were co-ed even, because the other one was closed. So no weird looks when I entered.)

Anyway, just wanted to share the good news. My overall condition is getting better every day and I'm loving it. (Though when asked, I remain pertinent that I am not a sportsman, heheh).
Perhaps I will enter another race as soon as next weekend! :eusa_clap: :icon_woowoo:

Take care,
Vincent

Great job, it feels good to be out doing work like that.  Congrads, and are you working your way up to 10K?, I think about 7K was the most I ever felt like doing.

5 km is very good for maintaing health.

Yesterday I ran about 14 km. It was a half-course marathon, but I could not finish it. While running, I got a cellular phone call, stopping running and returning to the parking lot. So far I have finished half-courses more than 10 times, and also one full-course marathon.

Yesterday was nice as guys behind me shouted to adore my body shape. They seemed to think I am a lady of 20's, but I am actually 40's. After the marathon, we went to a restaurant to have lunch. Almost all people there looked at me. Women tended to be more interested in me. Now I can enjoy such attention. To keep my body shape, I run at least once per week.

Barbie~~
Just do it.

That's awesome, fitness is an amazing thing! I ride bike 4 times a week, for over 50 miles total. Though on Friday, I went insane and did 30 miles (over the day that is :D).

Keep up the good work!

Thanks everyone!

Jay, it was a "regular" race, a really small one in my hometown. About 62 people participated.
Tekla, yes I hope to be able to run more kilometers in the future. Now that I've reached the 5, my next goal is 10 km. We'll see how that goes.
barbie, wow, running a marathon! That's a very big accomplishment!
findingreason, yes, riding a bike it great as well. I ride to and from the train station every day for a total of 45 minutes each workday, that helps my overall health as well.

Cheers,
Vincent

I find that a real hard work out program really helps to keep depression at bay, forces me to pay closer attention to the real world, and pay attention to my body too.  - all that and its good for you too.

I try to walk at least five a day and ride 15-20, in some combination.  It helps.
