Is there a such thing as a person's head getting so big it explodes?

Seriously.
I have this friend whose ego has grown immensely in the short time I've known them.
And I didn't even notice their head was expanding until I looked one day and it was the size of a watermelon.
And it's not pretty.

I don't know about explodes but they cant get extremely annoying. A bit of arrogance is alright but a lot of it.. then oh noo...

I have met people like that before... and sometimes I am slighty arrogant not that I believe anything that I say!

I suggest the Water Test. If they can't walk across the swimming pool, then they're just another person feeling their way through the fog.

Be sure the pool isn't frozen. I know someone who did that, just to say they could walk across a swimming pool.

Actually there is such a thing as the brain and head swelling.  I had a friend who almost died from it, they needed emergency surgery to fix the problem.

ps.  I know you weren't looking for a serious answer to this, but it does happen.

I can see a case when the person's head gets deflated.

With luck, it would be an embarrassing event that deflates their ego and makes them realize what has been happening.

Of course, disasters of various types can do ego deflation.  Unfortunately, they are painful in ways that can be long lasting and cause other problems.

Well, like Sarah Louise I'll give you a medical reason http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=3827.

Then a small relation:

Q; Do you know how they bury a six-foot seven Texan? (Apologies to the Texans who don't fit this bill.)

A: In a shoebox, they pump all the crap out of him and there's room to spare.

I think the same may be true for that sort of 'big-headedness,' Nero. The crap leaves and the head returns to a normal, or even smaller, size.

I think they'll lose themselves before they lose their head (when it explodes), so if it's possible, it won't bother them that much. If they're happy being this way, no skin of our nose, we should be happy that they're happy.  :)

I beg to differ big J. It's skin off my nose when it's a friend and I'm close enough to witness ( not to mention smell) the gross inflation of their melon head as it swells and bloats like a rotting peach. Not a pretty sight.

Big J.?  ???

Well, does it bother them that the size of their head is reaching abnormal size?
Or have they even noticed it?

No they don't notice it. It just sucks when you think you've got a friend and think you're on a level playing field with said friend when in reality they regard you as so far beneath them and believe they're too good, too flawless, too perfect, yadda, yadda, yadda, etc, etc, etc...
Quite irksome really.

This overlarge head/ego thing - could that explain the liquid leaking from my ears?

OMG, go to ER immediately.  :o  :)

Oh NO!  IT'S MR CREOSOTE!!!

It's not his head that explodes, but you get the idea...

Out of the darkness, into the light.
Following my bliss.
I am complete...
