Yikes, something new for me to worry about... I'm 5'4"! (grin) Seriously though, I've always felt the most comfortable in the gay male community (THAT should have been a clue!) and couples have the same mix of heights as in any other group. I think most people have a preferance for a certain height, but it's not a requirement for them any more than a preferance for other things (hair color, build).
To me, lot of the basis for a person's preferance as to height seems to be based in how they want to relate to their partner, or what they think others will percieve them as when they see them together. A huge difference in height does call attention to a couple and that might make some people uneasy.
What kind of guy are you looking for? Although size alone doesn't determinine dominance, (We've been talking about this in the Sexuality section!) speaking in a very general way, if a person needs to feel protected or be dominated, they want a taller guy. If they feel the opposite need, or fear being perceived as the "girl" (sigh) they want a shorter partner.
(snickering) Sorry, I'm not laughing at you or your question, it's not silly, it's just.... it just struck me that I'm not worried about a 5 to 10 inch difference in height so much the one in lenght...
