I just had this done on Monday it hurt much less than I was lead on to believe it's almost been a week now I'm hoping to see some kinda improvement (less hair!) I usually shave 1x a week but I've managed to avoid shaving so far this week the growth is a lot slower so I'm very positive

It's been 5 days since my first treatment.  It seems that the hair either is growing faster or is coming out faster than it used to grow.  The shadow it forms shows more quickly than it used to before treatment.  I know it is still early, so I'm not too concerned.  Just tell me this is normal.  Please?

it's been a few days now since my laser and OMG it's amazing I had a lot of dark hair after the laser it was slow growth (what looked like growth) for the first 6-7 days after but was pretty fast the next week and now almost I'd say 1/2 of it has just Fallen it used to grow in real heavy on my neck now it's barely there by comparison lots of short hairs that just fall off now.

It can seem like the beard is coming in faster, but it may just be the hair being ejected from the skin. 

I found that when I shaved a few days later, the hair was pulled out of the skin.  It just slide out, with out pain.  And that is when I realized that the patches were quite apparent.  I had to quit because of cost, but I hope to get back to it. 

I would like to go with electrolysis.  But I don't want to go without shaving.

One thing you might notice is a lot of the nuked hairs go all fat and dark. That will make it look like you have a heavy beard shadow.

On my second visit I asked the laser woman about this.  She said what you said, Nicky.  So the darker shadow indicates it's working.  After five or six days the darker shadow disappeared. 

After two sessions I can already see the difference.  Yay!   I love smooth skin.

Yea, ain't that a grand feeling.  I still have to shave after all the dark hairs fall out because of the white hairs in my beard but they aren't spaced near as bad as the dark hairs so I can still get that supersmooth feeling and I don't feel as bad even when the white hairs aren't shaved because they can't be easily seen unless they get longer.
And whoopie, someone is lending me their car so I can get up to Indy for my 4th laser appt.
Yesterday I had my 2nd electrolysis apt and I asked her to work on the dark hairs in my mustache because it has been bothering me a lot.  That was like a drawn out session of lasers hitting that area, ouch.  But I was real good, she said that she was really surprised that she didn't have to drag me off the ceiling like many of her other customers that have that area worked on.  The 2 things that ended it was my lower back hurting after laying there for an hour and 15 minutes (that mustache area has been getting cleared pretty well from laser already) and the fact I had to get to my therapist apt.  She is nice and runs me over my hour to fill the time between visiting her and my therapist.  As a bonus she doesn't charge a lot as well :^), that doesn't make it hurt any less though, lol

I've been seeing the difference now, even though it's only been one session. I went ahead and made my second appointment yesterday for the 17th of this month, which is exactly 5 weeks after the first appointment I had.

I noticed right off that she missed a very small patch under my right jaw, but forgot to bring it up over the phone. With noticeably fewer dark hairs and less actual time between shaves (I thank all that is good for that) I'm finding it easier to notice the lighter hairs that I have. They're much less of a nuisance overall, but I'm not looking forward to electrolysis in the places right next to my lips where they're at, or on the scar on my upper lip that's still oddly sensitive. I'm not sure if I should combine the treatments (doing electrolysis between laser appointments on those lighter hairs) or just wait, but for all that I'm not sure I can afford to do both yet anyhow.

my plan is to see laser through to completion first. I have 6 sessions and then 1 full year of unlimited touchups during that time, so i'm hoping that after that is done, I won't need too many (or any!) hours of electrolysis.

good news about seeing results now, it makes you more excited for that second session, doesn't it?

Oh yeah, I'm excited! I'm also nervous, as it's a big amount of money to drop for me, but I pretty much have to or I don't get that 5th session free. Which I know I'll need (and more).

She was actually extremely even, she just missed that one small spot. There's maybe 10 hairs there... maybe?

I find it odd that people around me haven't noticed (or commented upon) my sudden drastic decrease in facial hair. I mean, if I missed a day of shaving I looked like a haggardy old hobo, or a normal guy missing a few days... But it's all the better, there's less explaining to do.

Luna, after my second laser and all my dark hairs had fallen out I could get a super close shave cutting the white hairs that were left and I had heard only one comment and it wasn't directly to me.  A friend of my ex-girlfriends friend saw me and later mentioned to her that with my close shave I could almost pass for a girl, mind you he was seeing me in a dark living room with the light behind me in his face, lol.  But that is the only comment I have ever heard about till last week when letting what is still there grow out for my second electrolysis and one person at worked asked when I was going to shave that "scraggly face".  Apparently the dark hairs are now scraggly with their uneven growth, hehe.

I hope I don't have to look scraggly too often, I can get fired for my personal appearance where I'm working now. Granted it has to be multiple offenses, so I'm not too terribly worried about it.

I'm waiting for my mother to make a snarky comment about how I look disgusting, like last time she saw me in a particularly feminine pose (which was entirely subconscious, just me standing around thinking about something). I hope it's when my sister is around for the summer so she can bitch her out for me.

Well Luna, you could always set your appointments on Monday and let things grow as needed over the weekend if your hair can grow fast enough in that time.  That day is when my appts are.  I have to let my facial hair grow about 5 days for it to be long enough for electrolysis, it just grows so slow anymore.  At least a good shave lasts me more than just a day  .

Hi Luna!, from a slightly mixed up person, lol.  Last summer I told my supervisor about my name and she started laughing real hard but it wasn't because of the name itself, the next week we had a new person coming into work and her first and middle names are Kara Lee. Although I use Lee at work I have to always catch myself so I'm not reacting to Kara their as well, hehe.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but it has been 5 days today since my first laser treatment and nothing is happening other than I still have some discolored (dark, bruised looking) patches that only seem marginally better now than they did the first day. That and a lot of dead follicles embedded and just sitting there, and bumps too. I couldn't help it I had to shave it was grossing me out, I hope that doesn't affect them from being able to fall out? Maybe 5 days is too soon to freak out... doesn't stop me though lol

It does seem like all over it isn't growing back out nearly as fast as it did before though...

edit: just looked again and maybe the discolorations are about half better lol

You're not supposed to shave?   

The first week after the first treatment, it looked like if it was anything it was worse.  But things got better and continue to get better.  (3 treatments so far)  I shaved as closely as I could each morning.  I didn't shave the morning of my third treatment in case she needed to see what is left.   It's progressing slowly.  My face is smoother than it was.  But between the remaining hair and visible subaceous cells (from a life of T), my facial skin is still obviously male without makeup.

so yeah, I guess 5 days is a bit early yet...
