A Lesson in Deceit

When many people think of lawyers, they imagine people who are skilled in the art of being deceitful while technically telling the truth.  Now that I'm in law school I can see that this perception isn't very accurate.  But, yesterday I saw a campaign ad that would put any slick-talking lawyer to shame.  The California State Superintendant of Public Instruction, Mr. Jack O'Connell, appeared in the ad and said that gay marriage won't have any impact on education because schools are not required to teach about marriage.  That last part is technically accurate, but the idea expressed is very far from reality.
