To answer your question, yes it is :)
"Yes it is" in a good way or a bad way?  ???
How about a great way ;)
Cool!

I feel somewhat like a chickenBLEEP for waiting for Halloween to go out en femme for the first time. So, it's nice to know that others think while this is a cheap excuse, it's an acceptably cheap excuse.

Suzy

What in the world do you have to lose?  Give it a try!

Kristi is right you know, it's halloween, and nobody is going to care in fact I would suspect some might even expect it, Have fun

Kristi, Cyndigurl, thanks.

I'm a recovering Catholic, and I collect guilt.

I feel like I'm being somewhat cowardly by waiting for a "safe" day to go out cross-dressed when others face harrassment or worse the rest of the year. I guess I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill.

Cyndigurl45

Ya but to the mole it IS a mountain :)

OH Well.... ::)

My cheap excuse just turned expensive as I have just found out that I've got to work tomorrow night, and even I, wouldn't risk my life by wearing my "Catwoman" outfit to work on a building site!   ::)

Looks like my best chance is going to be a quick change into the "Old Witch" again, and just scaring the last few trick or treat'ers before midnight.....  :icon_chainsaw:

You're addicted to cats? ??? ;)

*smiles* Take it for what it is, hon. Go out, have fun, enjoy the feeling and live for the moment. Anything that comes after that, deal with it then. Your 'safe' day may give you a little shot of confidence you can draw on in a time when you feel ready go beyond that. :)

I hope you have a great time. *hugs*

I've always hated haloween because I didn't have the guts to wear a costume I wanted (female), or the enegy to be creative about one I didn't want (male). Also, using Haloween as an "excuse" seemed somehow self-trivializing or self-mocking.

In other words, I need to get over myself.

I don't know about Catwoman -- I think I'll just be me this year. :)

I don't think its a cheap excuse as much as its the reason for the season.  The entire point of the holiday for adults is to get dressed up and go party (however you define that).  So go ahead.

Hey, and you can leave the guilt behind too.  The Roman Catholic Church has no official stance about crossdressing (other then the practical example of how the pope dresses).  It has plenty to say and then some about sex, but as long as crossdressing or dancing does not lead to sex (well, except with your wife, which is OK) there is no prohibition against costume.  All Fools Day and Halloween are in many ways church based, if not church sanctioned, events to some degree.  In fact, not a small amount of Catholic ritual is costume based.  Different vestments and colors not only give order (the difference between Dominicans, Franciscans, et. all.) rank - special hats for bishops, cardinals, and popes -  but also clue as to the Ecclesiastical Season or holiday - purple for Advent, and so on.

Well, how did it go  ??? :D
The outfit was OK, but the wig didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but it was a cheap-o one.

1 mini basket ball = 2 cheap DIY breasts

I've got the "pepper pot" look here.

And, here's a pinup to make you hurl.

tekla

Well, at least you were wearing your helmet if you fell down the stairs.

It's not a helmet, I swear! It has a pony tail, really!

I feel your pain, that's why they don't let me carry a gun at work.

But, OK, that's a better pic, I thought it was some bike helmet, lots of CDs at the Halloween Critical Mass this year, it took them 1/2 an hour to cross Turk and Taylor, had traffic tied up all over.

as long as crossdressing or dancing does not lead to sex

You know about the Southern Baptists? They frown upon sex -- it only leads to dancing.

All Fools Day and Halloween are in many ways church based, if not church sanctioned, events to some degree.

Twelfth Night, as well. Though we sort of lost that one when everybody decided that Christmas ends rather than begins on Dec. 25. Too bad.

Is Halloween a cheap excuse for a timid person to go out cross-dressed?
???

And then there are really timid cross-dressers, like me. I wouldn't dare go out dressed as a girl on Halloween, for fear that people would sense that I'm enjoying it too much.

Sigh.

Halloween - it's also known as crossdresser's Christmas :D

Instead of finding a skirt under the tree, you find a tree under the skirt?

And like a traditional Christmas tree, it's hung with balls?  >:-)

I'm not gonna touch that line with a ten-foot ... oh, never mind.
