Is Halloween a cheap excuse for a timid person to go out cross-dressed?
???

Nero

maybe. that's what the holiday's really for though -  to give adults an excuse to dress up and be whatever they want, whoever they want.

what? you thought it was all about ghosts and goblins and candy corn?

Halloween - it's also known as crossdresser's Christmas :D
i say go for it! it's a GOOD excuse to cross-dress, and it can be a real confidence boost... the more you get to crossdress outdoors, the more confident you'll feel about doing it again :)

Instead of finding a skirt under the tree, you find a tree under the skirt?

I am old enough to remember when the American Halloween was pretty much a kid's only deal, but adults have invaded that space too.

While kids were into the fantasy aspect of it, or the creeps and ghosts deal, adults have seemed to make it a psycho-sexual deal (oh well, we all have our own fantasies I guess).

But you get a lot more cover on Halloween, on the other hand, its become such a crossdresser holiday, that you're all but announcing it to everyone.

I think it's a wonderful opportunity to explore yourself!

I went out for a few Halloweens right before I finally transitioned. But while I loved being seen and treated for being a female finally, it broke my heart that it was only a cruel tease created through illusion rather than reality, so I stopped after a few years.

That is priceless!

So, I've picked out a couple of cute outfits from among my wife's clothes (with her blessing). I also picked up a cheap wig, shaved my arms, legs, head and shoulders. I'll shave again Friday morning. We'll how things go...

Oh dear, have a wonderful time.  Halloween is a pretty special day in the Bay Area in general so all should go well.  Enjoy yourself.

I really should have started planning this out earlier. I would have had a bigger budget and I wouldn't have had to settle for Halloween-costume wigs.

In a word, they suck.

The first one I bought wasn't worth its wieght in kitty litter. And since I bought it so close to Halloween, a return or exchange was not possible.

So, my wife and I picked out another one that was really long. She trimmed it down, and will braid it for me. It's kind of got that Elvira look, which wasn't what I was going for. Oh, well. I can say that I'm dressed as a scary coworker, because I didn't have the decency to be cute in the office.
