what's a chat room do?

don't you have to write everything?

If I recall, the Quran expressly forbids communication through typing.

I thought it would be cool just to see androgyne faces in action and hear androgyne voices.

I don't look or sound androgyne.   ???

Yes you do. It is what you are and you are what it is.

that all sounds very complicated when it's likely we all have instant messenger.

and even an androgyne chat room here.

I've never found anyone at the androgyne chat when I visited  :(

but does it involve typing? I have a feeling that androgynes are gum flappers rather than finger tappers.

I've never been there, if it's live typing, I don't see the advantage. i like these forums. You have time to correct your message or rethink it before posting.

Yes, chat is live typing. THe few times I tried it, nobody was talking about being androgyne, just chatting about whatever came to mind....

Chat was fun back when it was new, in the mid 90s and all, but anymore I can't do it.  Too time consuming.  I like posting much better.

Posting is more civilized in my opinion.

I guess skyping is okay. I'd prefer a meeting type app, though. Then we could be a mob together

Actually meeting in person, real live chat in the same room would be awesome

Though I've 'met' and talked to, and even had long letter exchanges with many people on the net, nothing beats having coffee together.

Broken lines, broken strings,
Broken threads, broken springs,
Broken idols, broken heads,
People sleeping in broken beds.
Ain't no use jiving
Ain't no use joking
Everything is broken.

Broken bottles, broken plates,
Broken switches, broken gates,
Broken dishes, broken parts,
Streets are filled with broken hearts.
Broken words never meant to be spoken,
Everything is broken.

Seem like every time you stop and turn around
Something else just hit the ground

Broken cutters, broken saws,
Broken buckles, broken laws,
Broken bodies, broken bones,
Broken voices on broken phones.
Take a deep breath, feel like you're chokin',
Everything is broken.

Every time you leave and go off someplace
Things fall to pieces in my face

Broken hands on broken ploughs,
Broken treaties, broken vows,
Broken pipes, broken tools,
People bending broken rules.
Hound dog howling, bull frog croaking,
Everything is broken.

I'll see your Dylan, and raise you a Warren.

Mysterious, blown in with the night
All this beauty captured in a frame
Visibly shaken, but never stirred
Drives them insane
I see the way she plays her men
And I know I've got to know her name
She's so beautifully broken
Shaped by the wind
Dangerously twisted
Here I go again

I see the way she cast her spell
It's like drowning in moonlight
Discards them she's done
They're lost in her twilight
I watch her move from star to star
And I wonder why, why it feels so right

She's so beautifully broken
You can barely see the flaw
Especially from a distance
Which is always how I fall

Why do I fall for the dangerous ones
The ones that never learned to let go
And why do I lie to myself
And pretend that I can break her
When she's already been so
Beautifully broken

Why do I fall for the dangerous ones
The ones that don't know how to let go
And why do I lie to myself
And pretend that I could break her
When she's already been so

Beautifully broken
Shaped by the wind
Dangerously twisted
Here I go again, here I go again

Great song, I've heard him play it live, with just him on an acoustic, and it makes me cry.  You should be able to find it on LimeWire, or what ever 'legal' service you use.

or.

My thoughts exactly, except I used to be geek enough that for me chat was fun and new in the early 90's and late 80's (and even then it wasn't new in an objective sense). But now it's time to get out and have a cup of coffee with people that are physically present. See you in a while. :icon_caffine:

I've had the same sort of feeling lately.  The whole "broken" thing.  For the longest time I felt like I was going crazy.  I knew I hadn't completely lost it because one of the guy friends I grew up with from when we were both in elementary school was born a girl.  So I was no stranger to the idea that your identity didn't have to match the sex you were born as.  Still, I felt crazy because I didn't see myself as completely female or completely male.  Looking back on it, I guess I sort of knew for a long time.  But I've only just come to terms (sort of) with the whole thing.  There are still days when I feel like I'm losing it and it really scares me sometimes, but at the same time I can't help but be relieved to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't identify as strictly male or strictly female, but more of a blending of the two.  So I understand where you're coming from.  Sorry if I sound like I'm rambling, I don't talk much about this and it's good to get it off my chest.
