Males are infamous for turning over and going to sleep after sex.

There may be some chemical released by orgasm that acts as a short half-life sleeping pill.
That is, the urge is very strong but dissipates if you don't fall asleep within minutes.

Before as a male I noticed this effect. Now as a female the effect seems to be gone.

Can any MTF's confirm the loss of this effect?
Can any FTM's confirm the onset of this effect?

Well..I'm not post-op but I do feel the want to sleep after orgasm. I've always been that way but I noticed it more and more. Orgasm makes a good natural sleeping aid

I'm like that and not on T. The release has a calming and tiring effect. I often need an orgasm right before sleep. The sleepiness may be more pronounced in male bodied peeps because of the 'loss of fluid' or something and now on HRT the release of fluid isn't as strong, maybe?

Yeah of course. You don't notice it while "in the action," but most of the time during masturbation/sex, you're constantly tensing certain muscles, which is like exercise. [Only a lot more fun. ;D] So naturally, just like if you'd just returned from a run, after the release, you're going to be tired.

ROFLMAO! NEVER heard it put better!

Given my d'ruthers (and a partner who could stay awake  ::) ) after orgasm, I want most to snuggle up and CUDDLE! If I get that, I will probably drift off to sleep in a few minutes, unless his hands get to wandering again  ;D

I never really had a problem with that, so I doubt it will change with hrt.

While I can use it to fall asleep if I want (relaxation?), I can more easily use it to wake up or stay awake.

Circumstance, time of day ?

If "self excited" it relieves stress and can boost your energy ... like first thing in the morning or during a lethargic lunchtime.

Late at night "either self or with partner" guess it makes you want to roll over ...  ::)  ...

Just wish I were getting a bit more of it in a "relaxed setting" as I seem so highly strung these days that I really need to value the "enjoyable things in life" ....

My first impulse after orgasm is usually to get a drink of water and eat a sandwich. I feel energized afterwords.
