The hair remover had a little bit of an effect. Just not that much. It did make my skin feel soft though.  :)

When I get some more money maybe I can try the wax. Were would I get that though? How do you use it? Is it difficult to use? Most importantly; is it quick? I desperately want the hair to go away RIGHT NOW. It was very difficult for me to wait the 10 minutes for the hair remover to presumably do the job. It wasn't uncomfortable, I just didn't want to wait any length of time for it to be done.

*snicker*  Oh don't worry, hon.  When you use wax the hair is gone RIGHT NOW!

Along with the top layer of your epidermis too.  Be prepared to muffle the scream.  It will sting a bit.

There are sites both here and on the web that will describe the best use of wax and sugaring.  You might want to have a look at those so you can decide how to proceed.

Great job!

Oh, and do be careful about waxing or sugaring the face.  I found out the hard way that it can be very unpleasant.

YEEOUCH!!! SON-UF-A!

I hope it wasn't something like the mustache.

It was bad enough to wax the arms.  I am not going any where near the face with wax. Tweezers maybe wax no way!

I had my legs waxed last week. On the way out the guy at the counter says "Come back a lot sooner next time, and enjoy your riding". I looked at him rather funny wonder why he said that, I relised I had a triathlon shirt on and I think he though I was getting my legs done for when I am on my bike. I saw him and the beaty therapst two days later in full Alice mode and they did recognise me so I had to laugh. My disguse worked really well.

So guys go in for leg waxing all the time. It hurts at first but you soon get use to it.

Oh Lord!  Don't wax your face!
I started plucking my mustache years before transitioning, and now I still have to do it.....about 20 hairs persist, weakly.  They take 2 weeks to show just under the skin, and ease out very easily.
Don't wax your face!
Much better shaving face.  Shave face whenever poshible.

If you wax or epilate (wax before epilating!), it will sting the first time, but it does not last long and is worth it!

If you do it regularly, it will get less and less painful, (3rd time was nothing for me) but if you wait the pain meter starts to rise again so stay on top of it. I have noticed though after doing it for a few months, that the hair on my legs is growing a bit slower (woohoo!).

I use an epilator everywhere except my chest and face. my chest doesn't react well and breaks out, so I just shave. I tried epilating my face one time, and vowed never again! I'll stick with the razor until laser/electrolysis thankyouverymuch. :)

I also use Aveeno Smooth lotion that is supposed to slow the regrowth of the hair. I think I can get an extra couple days at most from it, but the lotion is really nice. my legs feel silky smooth after using this lotion.

Epilating is dually as painful as the waxing, I tried both in my early transition. It was Wing Walker put me on to using Vaniqa to slow down and thin out hair grownth on my face. Vaniqua is a cream in a tube, just a dab on the tip of your finger of about the sise of an asperin and just rub it in vigorously to get itno the pores.

I shave my legs and epilate my arms and chest, With HRT 6 years later I had no body hair growing anymore and verry little facial hair, what still grows is very fine hairs and I shave only every second or third day.

I guess the combination vaniqa, epilator and good old estrogen has done it's job. I alo swear by Mary Kay products. Been using it for 8 years and it has done wonders keeping my facial skin soft and supple and the desired result is hardly any wrinkles.

But the waxing does not drag on for as long.

Waxing = YIKES!
Epilating = Yikes, OWWW, YIKES, OWWW... for quite a while

Yep, don't do that.  I had a "cold sore" that took a long time to go away.  Oh the things we do when we are desperate.

Ah ... did any of you see the chest waxing scene in The 40 Year Old Virgin?

Talk about major "OUCH!" ....

It wasn't my nips, after all. LOL

Every time i've used the hair removal cream it never gets all of the hair, and after a few applications it will eventually burn my skin and raise bumps and welts. Not worth it.

Buddy of mine tried nair and burned himself really badly, to the point of bleeding.

If you still want to try it, like others have said - just go buy it and smile when you are checking out. The checkout person probably will not even look at what they are passing in front of the scanner.

That's because humor usually is at someone else's expense. Isn't that practically the definition of humor?

Incidentally, I haven't tried waxing, because I'm even hairier than that actor in The 40 Year Old Virgin. I've tried shaving, but it itches like crazy unless I shave twice a day -- and it's nearly impossible to shave my back by myself. I've also tried hair-removal creams. They did remove the hair, but I was afraid they were damaging my skin, so I stopped. That was 30 years ago; I don't remember what I used.

And no, I'm not transitioning, at least partly because if I wandered into the woods naked, there'd be a rash of "big foot" sightings. Well, "baby big foot" sightings; I have small feet. :)

"Hee, hee" yep I often wondered if the ouch, ouch dance was related to the pee, pee dance. :D Well one certainly is more painful. But as far as epilating the body and arms goes after the first half dozen epilations it doesn't hurt any more, maybe all those little red spots where the hairs got plucked out might itch some for a bit. But truly after about 3 years on HRT and epilating the hair stopped growing. Now the nips can come out and play.  ;D
