Hello Everyone:
My name is Shelly. I have been Shelly all my life, at least since I was about 4. I knew it was a name that better suited me than my given name. I tried to get people to call me by that name but they simply brushed it off as a four year old who did not understand it was a girls' name. And after all, I had a name.
I was very stubborn, very independent and in the end sneaky, though. Good for me in the short run, bad for me in the long run. I have always felt I lived two lives with the "normal" one prevailing – at least on the surface. Professional help enabled me to accept both. However, most of the people in my "world" though would not accept a change. I am constantly searching for friends and support. I have purged enough clotes in my life to dress an office full of women.
So, thank you for being there. I hope I can make a positive contribution to this sight and what I hope will be some very good girl friends.
