I am interested about the experiences that transgendered people have playing with soft toy animals (mainly as children). It is more typical to transmen or transwomen? Or both?

I'm a little confused.  Are you asking what our opinion is on the matter, or if we, personally, had more than the average number of stuffed toys?  I had a boat load of them.  They were the most girly thing I was willing to play with, and so the go-to present from many people outside my immediate family.  I still have a bit of a soft spot for them.  I mostly refrain from putting them out, though, except at Christmas when I put them under the tree.

This was kind of covered in another recent thread, it seems alot of us are still attached to ours and played with soft toys.

I sleep with my build a bear "stephen Jnr" every night :)

I didn't have any at all. And still don't. Having two brothers with a penchant for destruction made it rather difficult to own anything that wasn't obliterated inside a week. And anything that was seen as girly... voodoo rituals didn't hold a candle to what those two were capable of. :-\

But I used to read a lot instead of having actual toys to play with.

Uh....yeah, I'm not TG and I was addicted to my stuffed animals.  I had a gazillion of them.  I think you're either a stuffed animal sort of person, or you're not.

Isnt that the truth :)

Aww leiandra, i know what you mean about brothers too.

I had a stuffed lamb I carried around. But that was when I was still in diapers.

As to the question, I'd say it's more likely that ftms had more stuffed animals because little girls always receive a lot of soft, fluffy things.

I didn't have any but my little brother, who's quite male and 22, still keeps around a stuffed teddy bear he used to love and sleep with every night when he was a little kid.

I was given GI Joes and Matchbox cars and using them I made movies with awesome plots (in my head :) ). I don't know if it's because of that, but even though I think they are as cute as can be, I've never had much interest for them. I agree with Nero that people tend to give more stuffed animals to ftms though.

When I was little, I remember having hundreds and hundreds of "babies". I have no idea what we did with them, but we (that is, my older brother, sister, and I) loved them. After a while when we got tired of them, we tossed them all in the closet under the stairs and we'd go "spelunking" in there searching for specific ones.

I don't know where they are anymore. Probably got lost in a move.

mostly fluffy animals.

I knew one post-op transwoman who called herself ''Fluffy'' instead of her real name. Her friend talked only about ''Fluffy'' when she was talking about her.
It is an odd nickname.

Mine was also a puppet.  A "green duck" that I had since I was a baby.  My dad recently found her buried along with some old boxes.  Since then (almost a year ago) she has also transitioned and is now complete.

I had that green ducky since forever during my childhood; I used to sleep with her, and somehow she became my imaginary friend as well.  Years later, however, I thought I had lost her and literally forgot about her (I know...I know...bad Tink  :() until one day when dad returned to South America; he found her among some old, dusty boxes and brought her to the U.S to be with me, and she has been here (on my bed again) ever since!

The funny thing is that I have never given her a "real" name.  I have always called her patita verde (Spanish for "green ducky")!  :)

I have had very different soft-toy animals when I was a child. Later I have collected soft toy and decorative animals that represent only one spesific animal. I have a huge collection of them.  :)

Owls are my favourite animals. I have also many pictures of them.  Some people think that owls are symbol of evil or bad.   ???

I love owls as well.  They are extremely wise and very mysterious! :)

There is this Roman story (or is it Greek?...can't remember exactly) about witches who used to turn into owls in order to suck the blood of newborn babies, and then they would dance together on the graves of the dead.  Of course, it's just a story, but I guess some people are way too superstitious and believe in things of that nature! ::)

One of my traits that will never leave is loving stuffed animals. I saw this Pachirisu doll at Wal-mart yesterday (it's a Pokemon) and in my mind I was like "Omg....x3333 squeeeee!" This is what a Pachirisu looks like

I wanted that doll so bad. I am a sucker for cute things whether stuffed or real. Back to topic, I loved stuffed animals as a kid and I still do ;D
