Bavarian-born Pope Benedict XV1 has given us all something to talk about at Christmas with a ringing denunciation of homosexuals and transgender-ites, saying their perverted ways could signal "the self-destruction of humanity."

By this one presumes that he thinks we could all die out if these two preferences become yet more pronounced, but this seems a bit strong, even for someone who's spent the latter part of his adult life in Italy.
