The purpose of baby-steps in this context is to make sure that you won't do anything you'll regret later.
But the thing is, when you're ready, you're ready, and at that point, the baby steps can feel aggravating.

Might help to remember that even small steps forward are forward motion. It might be slow, but you'll get there sort of thing.
