Been thinking about switching from a beanie to a fitted hat to hide the hair when it gets hotter, just buying a hat that's a few sizes too big, stuffing the hair up in there.

Has anyone ever tried this/knows if this could work?

If you don't know what a fitted hat is, they look like this:

Tried it, doesn't work. It looks just like what you're doing: Hiding your hair. It looks kinda funky and there'll always be strands that fall down. Also if the hat is too big it makes your head look smaller which doesn't help at all.

What I would suggest is to wear a hat that's the proper size for your head and comb your hair back and tie it in a loose ponytail that sits under the hat. DON'T have the ponytail sit high on the head or pull through the loop in the back of the hat. This is very feminine.

hmm if there's a reason you don't want to cut your hair, maybe you could thin it out on top so the hat will look less bulky.

I lean over and tie my hair so the pony tail sits on top of my head. Then I put my hat on. (while I'm still leaning over) Then I stand up and tuck any loose ends with my pinky finger. Cool NY Yankees hat

Strands falling down isn't a problem for me, haha, I have curly hair, it's like wire, it'll go whereever I push it, and stay. It's quite handy actually.

Would you have any pictures of said attempt with tucking hair up? I'm sure there's some way to make it work. In a comedy show I watch, a girl did that as a joke, and it worked, didn't look weird at all unless you looked too close. She didn't pass, obviously because it was just a joke, she still wore makeup and everything, didn't bind, [the funny ideas people have, if you hide your hair it'll make you a boy ] but hairwise, it was decent.

Yeah the ponytail thing is my Plan B since I've always wanted a fitted hat anyways, regardless of hiding hair.


Nero: Parentals would freak if I cut it, not ready to handle that right now. And I kindof like my ponytail. I mean, if I can't have a buzzcut, I'd definitely have a ponytail. And thus I have a ponytail.

I have long curly hair, a little past my shoulders. If I don't brush it out, I become a dready very quickly. When I put my hair up in my B-ball cap people ask me if I got a hair cut. I ask them....Which one?  The trick is to place the pony tail forward on your head. That's why to lean over. I'll try to put some pic.s together

Hmm well I have thick curly hair that poofs, so if I did a ponytail on top of my head, it'd look like I had a tumor lmfao. If I tuck my hair in, I have to just stuff it up in my beanie, untied, and smooth it around so it doesn't look strange. But pictures would be helpful. :] Front/back/side views please if it's not too much trouble.
