I don't usually speak openly about silicone injections because honestly I never thought it was anyone's business what I may have or not have had done to my body to physically transform myself to who I am today. But, after hearing of yet another young transgender woman who died recently from loose silicone injections I thought it best to speak about it openly to let others in the transgender community know just how dangerous this can be.

I have heard and seen stories on free silicone.  The idea sounds good in theory. No major surgery, just a needle.  But the silicone is general industrial silicone, not medical silicone.  That is problem one.  There is no containment, problem two.

I am kicking around a BA, but I am more inclined to go with saline, than silicone.  That stuff is nasty.

Once that stuff is in, you have no control of where it goes, if it clumps,  or if you may have an allergic reaction to it. As told, once there it is very difficult to get rid of. It does not matter if they are trained or not, the injections are a terrible way to go. If you have augmentation down with normal implants at least they can be removed later if there is a problem.

If trans stuff were covered by health insurance (and health insurance were accessible to all), I think silicone injections would practically drop out of existence.  A lot of times, I think, people who do it are stuck in a catch 22 where they need money for surgeries but need greater passability in order to get jobs to earn that money.  If you don't start off in a position of having enough financial capital to transition, it's a toughie.

I might get my breasts injected with silicone tomorrow...the question I have for you is that you said that it took 4 years to become a problem??? IM thinking that that may be worth it...I mean 4 years of utter beauty,,,,i dont know.....

Why just settle for 4 when you could use that time to save up and get the job done properly and have that beauty for 10, 20, 30... however many years?

43 old? I think someone's reality check has bounced.. My grandmother is in her 80's and doesn't appear to be much more than mid-50's on a bad day.. Look after yourself properly and you can maintain good looks for a long, long time..

In 6 weeks I'm having a silicone breast augmentation done with FDA approved Mentor silicone "gummy bear" type implants, done by a DOCTOR and not some jackleg back alley criminal.

They should last me the rest of my life.  Even if the shell is breached the stuff will NOT go anywhere else in my body.

What you plan to do may last you the rest of your life too, because you will be lucky to make it five years and not DIE from this.

Total cost for my implants, TOTAL COST, bottom line, $5,900....

Do what you will, many, many people have given you advice that is meant to HELP you not hinder you.

Even going to a doctor in Mexico to have a BA is much smarter than direct silicon pumping from a stranger off of the street. Personally, I think it is better to pay more to get the best. Even in Mexico doctors are required to follow standards although not necessarily as good as doctors in the U.S. This comes down to common sense as I stated in another thread. It comes down to two basic options in life: you either do things the wrong way in order to receive instant results but that will eventually lead to prolonged problems in the future or you do things the right way, take longer to achieve the results, but that will lead to little or no problems in the future. You can eat fast food everyday for convenience and to save money but you will end up paying for it in the future in terms of healthcare costs money wise and life expectancy wise. To put it simply: THINK!

I think women with small breasts are beautiful, and actually find larger breasts to be off putting. But hey, thats just me.

iris. I really understand what you're getting at there. Time is passing and you quite naturally want results, not chat.

But we all have to think ahead. Markets create charlitans.

The cost of getting botched fixes repaired, will eat into any savings you might have for a decent procedure.

well, need-less-to-say, she came back with the silicone and guess what I did....................  I told her I had changed my mind  and requested my initial 500 back,  which believe it or not she gave it back, all 500$. 

I am usually a very impulsive person and what I grudgingly admit is that I need to have patience  BUT even though, according to this forum, i have done the right thing, it feels terrible. A big let down.

Glad to hear of your decision. You really did the right thing!     If you decide to go ahead with it, best to have it done properly and safely.

Good for you, I know it feels bad now, and you wish you had done it, but you would have regretted it, and I'm sure you will be glad you didnt do it
