Above all... remember: you are beautiful, you are valuable, and you have a shining spark of magnificence within you. Don't let anyone take that from you. Embrace who you are. <3

Kinda' proves a lot of psychologists wrong about prohibiting surgery in teens. Amazing a 16 year old can do that without even trying, just being herself. And despite all the hoopla the "specialists"  would have said it's not realistic. They, meaning "concerned" doctors can arbitrarily "fix" intersexed children or children with undefined gentalia, because they say is right, but they won't allow children to decide for themselves. She kinda' proves them really stupid about all their so-called knowledge.

Yikes.  I just hope she got a good operation, being in Germany and all.  The only SRS results I've seen from Germany were, well...

Without any information on SRS in each country - but having been in both places a few times - I sure as hell would rather go to a German hospital than an English one.

LOL, no. :)  I was thinking of a guy named Sohn, I think.

She is so very pretty. This is one very good argument for early SRS, especially since it didn't give T any chance to do its damage to her.

Pictures of the lucky girls who figure it out young and have parents who support them really get me depressed.  I want to look and admire very much, but it just makes me wish so much that my life had turned out differently, which just isn't good for the self-esteem.

When I was 19 years old and first time at gender clinic the therapist said that I was too young for HRT even the official youngest age is here 18. It would have been nice to start hormons when I was 20 years old, not 25.

Yes. You could say that this girl is like a kick in the balls and a punch to the tit at the SAME TIME. Kinda like Venus Envy.

But yeah... I feel admiration, but damn it makes me feel like crap

Yeah, I can agree with the general sentiment of ... well let's be honest, jealousy that it couldn't have happened for me sooner too. That said, I'm really happy for her, and I hope she makes a huge splash in the world still - for the right reasons, namely her career, her humanity, who she is rather than what she is.

Must say, I was quite surprised by the comments, especially coming from Sun readers. (No offence to any Sun readers) For the most part they were remarkably accepting. I mean, there wasn't a single out and out negative comment there! :)

Well, there were a couple of negative comments, but most of them were merely practical objections more than anything else.

What did you expect?  If you are pretty, most people could care less if you are trans.  Passing makes people more accepting.

It is pretty amazing really.  Nice to see a lot of different people work together to bring about this girl's happiness.

The phrase 'Venus Envy' is actually what got me into seriously thinking about doing this.  I was feeling angry about some Freud thing I was reading for college or something, and then flipped his famous fallacy into that phrase and I was like, genius! because 'Venus Envy' is totally how I feel, but then I thought, wait, better check if someone else had come up with it first so I googled it and found the webcomic and one thing led to another led to me here and now I actually own a dress (and if I wasn't college-poor I'd buy fifty of them and never wear anything else).

The young age should not be an absolute contraindiction to gender reassignment treatments. I am happy that this young lady has got appropriate treatment. There are always risks when patient with clear TS is denied treatment.
