Recently my favourite pair of jeans ripped near the knee's and I thought it was cool. But within a week I threw them out and bought some more. Now I have a new favourite pair.
I saw on a talk show that ripped or worn jeans are back in fashion but I'm not so sure. I can only wear them for about a week or so then I toss them...Never to be warn again! It's not like they sell them second-hand at op shops. What do you think?

My favorite jeans are my old worn out Levi's 501's. I don't really care if they're in stile or not. They are comfortable. Unfortunately I can't wear them in the garden due to poisonous spiders and other other insects that bite. I have my old BDU's for that. I save them even though I also have a new pair of 501's

yeah Levi 501's were cool. My jeans were Levi's. When I asked the store for some more they were all gone and the size I needed wasnt there. I tried on some other Levi's and they were sexy but a liitle small for me. Then the store girl came over with some Boyfriend Jeans which fit me snugly and fine. They were cheaper too so I bought a leather belt to go with them. I was wrapped.

It is getting hard to find 501's. I feel lucky. I have some other jeans also. But the 501's are so comfortable and kinda sexy with my low rise bikini's. I am looking at a few other brands though

How did you get them to rip near the knee?
Mine always wear out "everywhere else" and have perfectly intact knees before I harvest them for parts.
Which brings me to... If you'd rather not trash them I could give 'em a new home and purpose. I like denim as a material for making things and sometimes have to add the bottom of old jeans to new ones as finding long enough ones that fit me otherwise is really quite hard up here.

Ripped jeans have always had somewhat of a "place", so there's always gonna be people willing to take 'em off your hands though.

I wear what I want. A rip would never make me murder my favorite jeans.  ::)

Are ripped jeans cool? I certainly do not think so.

Sewing is cool though.
I thought about sewing some patches on mine. Flowers, Hearts etc. Maybe a slippery when wet patch for the rip in the crotch area  >:-)

A good pair of jeans is like a good boyfriend. -
Use them until they no longer fit or work for you. (Unless you love them.)

Well, rather than "cool" or "cold," I'd just say they're "drafty."

you may as well have some pride

lol. Yeah mine ripped in the crotch area as well. I think that is embarrasing when your sitting down with your legs up. That's one of the main reasons I got rid of mine. I think a patch there would invite strange quetions.

Yeah, as if some folks aren't strange enough already.  Why should I egg them on with my crotch? Besides, I kinda like it when my panties show through  >:-) Especially if they're pink

Yes, Definitely in style. The fad will disappear, then reappear right after you throw them out. If I had saved all the rags from the early 70s they would be worth a fortune. My daughter used to bleach, chop, and pound here denim pants. She lived about 50 yards from a beach so she placed rocks in the pockets and let tide wash over them for a couple of days. The result was satisfactory for her. However, it was hard on MY budget.

I have several pair of jeans that are ripped at the knees or have holes in the legs around the thighs. I love my worn out jeans. One of the things I love about holy jeans is the fact that I can show a little smooth, shaved leg without being overtly noticable. Plus, they are great for just knocking around the house or for running to  the home improvement store.

The only time ripped jeans bug me is when they are sold new that way  :P

But I love my "Holy Jeans"

yeah, they say you should never throw out your old clothes, because fashion has a tendency to repeat itself.

It's an in-out thing. It comes back and leaves.

The thing with 'cool' is that if you have to ask, you probably already know the answer.
